<BBC> 18:49 FULL-TIME Spurs 1-0 Real Madrid Spurs are into the Audi Cup final. Alternatively, they have won *a* pre-season friendly. </BBC> Of course, ^*a* ^another would have been honest (perhaps the hack is at least one of : 1. Juventus lover 2. Kane hater) .
Tottenham are closing in on a £55m deal for Real Betis midfielder Giovani lo Celso, with the 23-year-old set to agree a five-year contract. (Mundo Deportivo, via Mail) Spurs are exploring a deal for 24-year-old Sporting Lisbon and Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes as an alternative to Lo Celso. (Evening Standard) Betis have already rejected several offers from Tottenham for Argentina international Lo Celso. (SevillaABC - in Spanish)
With so many teams with foreign players makes me think......have British kids stopped playing football?
Paris St-Germain want to sign Juventus and Argentina forward Paulo Dybala after the 25-year-old's Premier League deadline day move to Tottenham fell through. (Mail) Juventus will continue to listen to offers for Dybala and are open to selling him to anyone but Inter Milan. (Calciomercato) I hope Dybala tells Juve it's us or no one. He'd be with us in January.
I forgot to mention this the other day, but John Barnes was on BBC Breakfast to discuss racism in football - but as soon as he suggested that it's an issue in wider society, which it is, the presenters started arguing with him George Orwell is owed millions in royalties by this state-owned corporation
"I think a team that isn't even in the Premier League can win the Premier League" Thanks for the insight, Felix...
According to the metro which I've never read poch dropped verts for the villa game because he returned to training and wasn't fit enough to play.seems bizarre to me verts seems the perfect professional .according to the report poch was fuming and verts was raging when he was dropped and not even on the bench ,something has happened behind the scenes just hope it gets sorted out we need verts back ASAP .
The Daily Wail's take is...well, let's be honest, you can probably guess their interpretation of the story as soon as I said the name of that particular hate comic
Suzanne Moore's had her monthly braindysentery in the Grauniad with a column about Jade Goody where she somehow managed to come down on the side of Goody, the blonde one out of S Club 7 and Spurs bicycle Danielle Lloyd when discussing the racial abuse of Shilpa Shetty, with the basis of her argument being that Shetty had servants at home when she was growing up Errm...whattheactual****?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/scores-fixtures/2019-08?filter=results Go to the PL results, and hover your browser pointer over each fixture. You will get the "click" behaviour (as expected) . Now, as of right now (as not606 will date this) , do the same for the Citeh fixture ...
More lazy reporting from BBC: A quote from the article https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49389362 '' Lucas Moura ran on to the pitch for Tottenham against Manchester City on Saturday and 19 seconds later the ball was in the net, the Brazilian heading in Christian Eriksen's corner for an equaliser in the 2-2 draw.'' We all know that Eriksen doesn't clear the first man at corners and it was Coco's corner
You can't get to the match report from the Spurs home page on the BBC site: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/tottenham-hotspur There are four articles relating to the game and it's not one of them, nor does it link from our results page.
There was obviously an HYS meltdown tsunami (pro/anti Citeh/Spurs tribes) that the BBC mods evidently could not handle.
Goody died in same week as Wendy Richard, an actress known for decades. Yet Goody received massively more publicity. Goody being the racist one, and not forgetting the one who got thousands in sponsorship to run a marathon but didn't bother to train and did about a mile.
I'm not sure she was racist, just monumentally stupid (I know they usually go together). Shilpa Shetty (from the little I watched) was a stuck up cow, but she had a vocabulary that left Goody stranded. The Shilpa poppadum stuff was just her grappling for words and not finding the right ones. I saw genuine remorse in her afterwards - not just I've ballsed my lucrative career up (though obviously there was a bit of that).
Having watched the documentary about her, the real villains were Max Clifford and the media that exploited her. She needed someone to guide her properly and it never happened.
Indeed they do. As somebody said on t'Internet a decade ago : BNP voters - thick people who usually vote Labour.
