And Everton merely had to break their club transfer record to do that Sadly this is too difficult to explain to Diego as it uses a lot of long words he cannot understand. Long words such as "had"...
The players have just emerged for their warm-ups at Brighton. The Spurs players got a hefty cheer from their fans behind the goal. Still plenty of support there despite the difficult run. (Commentator post on BBC Football) We're not NUFC ffs ! The media agenda is unrelenting.
Somebody at the Express doesn't seem to know it's the team that loans the player in who initiates talks to make a player's loan permanent, not the one who loaned them out... Manchester United are in talks with Roma over making 29-year-old defender Chris Smalling's season-long loan deal at the Serie A side permanent.
So the latest example of The Athletic being the usual drivel the tabloids have been pumping out for decades but the Twitter/reddit crowd think they have clout as they have a monthly subscription fee, they are reporting that Serge Aurier is "growing tired" at working under Poch. But let's see if there's any quotes that corroborate the headline ...nope, can't find those, so I'd best look to see if there's any sources ...nope, none of those either, as they're quoting a Daily Wail article that was available for free online, coupled with the usual "sources at the club" bunk that only weak-minded people swallow wholesale
"As footballers, and particularly those of us who have suffered bad injuries, you are perhaps a little more conditioned to dealing with these incidents than most. And perhaps that’s why the reaction of Heung-min Son and his Tottenham team-mate Serge Aurier was the aspect that I found most uncomfortable about the whole situation. I am not saying they shouldn’t have been upset or shown distress, because these are normal human emotions. But, for a while now, I have been bothered that players and managers seem to think they must show an extreme version of their emotions because of the comeback they will get if they do not." - convicted wife-beater Stan Bollomore What absolute ****e
He regularly talks about mental health issues and how wrong it is that it is not taken seriously and then chats bollocks like this? WTF goes through his head?
Forbes have posted an article blaming Harry Kane for our current woes, saying his dropping into deeper positions to find the ball is preventing him from getting into scoring positions Just a thought...would he be dropping into those positions if Eriksen, Rose and Aurier were remotely useful in getting the ball to him?
Which contradicts an ES sh*t stirring hack this week who claims that because Kane is recently scoring for fun for England, the fault lies with the Spurs ATTACKING SUPPLY (who are not providing the service he is getting in England games) .
The Standard are right, though: the full backs are as useful at creating chances as Prince Andrew is at proving there's no need to be suspicious of his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, while Eriksen's been a black hole where if attacking momentum gets too close then it has no hope of escaping as it gets sucked into the jaws of infinity - which is the exact reason why he's dropping deep, because Ndombele's the only player reliably getting the ball between midfield and attack this season
A marvellous piece of 'hackery' from The Gruniad's Davis Hytner... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...nho-tottenham-told-no-money-transfers-january Personally, I have no idea if we've got money to spend in January.....which puts me in exactly the same position as Mr Hytner.
The ****er's quoting Mourinho as if he's interviewed him. The quotes are from that video the club put up on social media! What a fraud.
You can see how he came to that conclusion They have at least £60m left over from not signing Dybala in the summer They had to pay Poch and his staff £20m Lo Celso will cost us either £27m in January or £32m at the end of the season Therefore no money Best get Wanyama out the ****ing door then...
I see how he's come to it. However, that's not the same as... "José Mourinho has been told that he will have to work with Tottenham’s existing squad as there is no money for an overhaul in January." There's been nothing from the club indicating that to be the case. He's probably been told that money's not water and we aren't going to be throwing the stuff about, with the Academy a primary source of replacements but I can't see the club being that hard line at this point. This is 2+2 reporting. One could equally suggest that needing, at least, 2 centre halves, a couple of full backs and a holding midfield player, and having £60m or so of income at risk if we fail to qualify for European football, the club might re-draw its budgets to plug some of those holes in January. It's what we did in 2007, buying Woodgate, Hutton and Gilberto at considerable expense on top of a net spend in the summer window. We have enormous potential in FFP spend and have just significantly re-jigged our debt. If we want to spend and can negotiate deals for the right players, the money could be found, if we're still struggling come January. If that's the case, I reckon that logic and the existing budget will go out of the window, somewhat and we'll try to bring players in. Attracting a stadium sponsor and keeping HK, Sonny and our other assets is going to be much harder if we're sitting on our hands on Tues, Weds and Thursday nights in 2020/1.
Quick question: do headline writers in this country honestly believe that Erling Braut Haaland's most likely destination next summer will be Taurine FC Leipzig?
Evidence that football fans know jack ****, Exhibit A The following team does not include Zinedine Zidane, Paolo Maldini, Andrea Pirlo or Gianluigi Buffon
