You are, of course correct. I am sure I have posted along these lines way way back. The sale of Bowen etc resulted in relegation, which in turn had the beneficial effect of halving the wage bill, and seeing the departure of the last of the high earners. Throw into the pot any covid related government money, plus the much discussed grant, yes city are in a good place money wise right now.
We might have a little money (available if needed) BUT the point is 'we' are still £30 to £40 mill in debt .... which is why we never get sold (asking price) and why the Allams will continue to get their 4% interest on their 'gift'.
It would be a nice suprise if the next accounts show a dramatic fall in the value of the loan gift. I'm not holding my breath.
Yes, it is what it is, and yes, there are some clubs in a worse situation than us, but for those of us that just want rid of the Allams (for varying obvious reasons), it's ****.
