Well that was massively unexpected to be honest. Not this soon after the match! Correct decision for sure. Fair play, he improved us, but not good enough now.
Didn’t expect it but it was inevitable really, we’ve been poor for months. But still he done his best for this football club, put his heart and sole into everything and I for one respect and acknowledge what he achieved here. Onwards and upwards
I’m really sorry it’s come to this, but it had to happen, we have been woeful since the restart and no better before it. It’s too late for the play-offs now, but it may just give us a bounce for the last 4 games
I hope you’re right RP, or you and your LJ hater mates will be eating a $hit load of humble pie if the next guy is no better!!
Hi everyone I know its only just happened so you probably not had time to think about yet but any idea's who you want next in charge? With Lansdown backing you, you really can't be that far away from Prem football. I think personally you now need an experienced big name manager as I that for me is what will make the difference in getting you up to the top level.
I am full of great joy. Not about City's future - What will be will be. My unconfined joy is that the spoilt brat has been found out. More champagne please Mrs R.
Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has been sacked after a run of poor form that culminated with Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Cardiff City. Assistant Head Coach Dean Holden will take over immediately in a caretaker capacity as the Robins look to appoint a successor. City chief executive Mark Ashton said: "We recognise the huge amount of work that Lee has put in over the last four-and-a-half years to move this club forward and we thank him for all his efforts. "There have been some special moments over those years and Lee has played a significant part in them. "However, success in football is ultimately judged by results and league position and the Board believes that a change of management is needed now for Bristol City."
It had to come he had lost his way, my thoughts now are i pity the next man in, before anyone takes this job look at 606 and see all the vile comments these so called supporters posted about the outgoing manager, you may have second thoughts.
The problem is we have got rid of the chief Amigo but two others remain, Holden in charge and McAllister, we need a complete clear out.
The positives are, the academy is undoubtedly bearing fruit, we are reasonably stable in our championship position. There were some truly great moments. The negatives are, he could never overcome his roller coaster record as a manager, longish runs of not losing and even longer winless runs. I think that he took a long time to realise that the fans were fed up with his predictable, 'they were great in training', 'I will have to pick players that I can trust' but most of all his refusal until Wednesday night and today to take any personal responsibility whatsoever, I think he undoubtedly lost the respect of several senior player. What we need now is a manager that the players can respect.
Hopefully they will be gone when they install the new bloke, hopefully quite soon, the club need to bring in somebody quickly, because it looks as though the closed season is going to be short and he needs to make his own assessment of our squad and what is needed. My understanding is Johnson was going at the end of the season anyway and that the club were in talks with Hughton and those talks were/are advanced and going well.
I have always cared for Bristol City FC, it's the team we all support, Johnson has gone down to his own failure.
