I've started going thru my collection of ww2 aircraft images, this one, a Lanc bombing up for a night's operation.
View from the pilots glass canopy back the the mid upper gunner during flight, normally between 15 - 20,000 thousand feet up. A very lonely existence up there. Only the rear gunner was more removed from the crew.
I remember visiting New Brighton in 1961, we were staying at my Gran's in Liverpool and that was their 'seaside resort', funny what sticks in the memory...
My son lives just over the Mersey in Toxteth, and we love to head over to NB for a few rounds of mini golf. Some great properties on the hill
