Last 8. We will just about scrap through the group stages and then we will face Spain, and it will be all over.
Semi-Finals - for no other reason than there is no expectation, with everything being 1-0 to the England.
France will win our group but I think we can finish 2nd in the group, but then we won't get past Spain
I think France will come flying out of the blocks and annihilate our 8 defenders playing for 0-0. The mandatory draw with Sweden will leave us having to beat the Ukraine in there own back yard in front of a very partizan crowd and officials. I predict the final table to look something like this.... pts France 7 Ukraine 5 England 2 Sweden 1
Defeated by France Beat Sweeden. Then its all to play for against Ukraine. Home advantage could knock us out. Ill go group stage.
Out in the group stages IMO, we'll lose to France, scrape a draw against Sweden and then either draw or lose against Ukraine as the intimidating home crowd prove too much for us.
I don't mind how far we get in this one. Much more concerened that Roy starts to build for the future and 2014. Anything we get here will be a bonus. Obviously I'll be cheering them on as much as any other year, but this time with no expectations and a willingness to cut the manager some slack if it goes tits up.
Roy's in a no-lose situation here. If England bomb then he can hardly be held responsible, given the lack of time he has had at the helm. If they do well his selection will be justified as far as the FA is concerned
It will be his fault, he chose the crap defense Liverpools players will be held to account, all of them are crap. Englerlanistan will go out in group stage
Group: France 0 - 0 England Sweden 0 - 2 England England 1 - 0 Ukraine Quarter Final: England 1 - 1 Ireland (England 4-3 on Penalties) Semi Final: Portugal 0 - 2 England Final: England 1 - 3 Netherlands
It's a toughie this one. This is the first Euro/World cup that I have not been at all confidant about our success. I was always sure we'd do well in the others... and we didn't. Maybe the opposite will come true here. Although, more likely is that we will do even worse, lose every game and go home with the wooden spoon. All that said, I do have faith in Woy. I hope we play like we have done in the two friendlies, win a fairly hum-drum 1-0 in every game and beat the Dutch in yet another nullifying 1-0 in the final. Job done. In Woy We Twust.
