Sounds dubious. Wouldn't it be better to get Premier League money every year?

I agree. This seems to be a kind of conspiracy theory amongst journos and bloggers, but it actually makes little sense. Staying in the PL is the way to develop the club and players alike. Even with parachute payments after relegation there is still a net loss compared to staying in the PL.

5 more games with a minimum of 6 points on the board .
2 wins or 3 draws and a win.

If we fail to register a victory in the next 5 games we'll most likely be pretty much relegated.

I've just spent an evening on YouTube and social media and have come to the conclusion that we should dismiss Farke immediately. I know online is not always representative of opinion offline and tends to be more extreme, but the feeling against Farke is so strong at the moment that I don't believe he can ever win back the fans. Once things reach a certain point, they become irreparable and inevitable. There's no point fighting it - he's dead in the water IMO and the sooner it happens, the better for him and for the club.

I want Farke to stay. IMO Farke will resign if the fan pressure gets too much for him. But I hope if he does go it will be because of a mutual decision by him and Webber, not because of loud fans flooding social media. I think this was a five year plan to begin with and DF is in his 5th year, let's stick it out.

I'm not arguing for or against him staying. I'm just saying IMO things have probably reached the point of no return. Perhaps four wins in the next four matches could turn it around, but it would take something like that.

Two wins in the next four (a big ask I know) would buy him some time, but look at the games after that until Feb. and there are none I would think we would win. You are probably right that fan pressure will make Webber act. I just want to see one of those "small miracles."

The fan base seems to be split. The Pinkun survey currently shows 54% for go with 46% stay. Given that this is probably still a very small sample of the at least 50,000 fan base, it's hardly conclusive. I don't think Webber will base his thinking on that or the Pinkun staff who are also split. It's just more noise. He will look at the players and the preparations for Brentford in a professional manner. With four key games coming, I don't think this is the time to change. Watford would do it, but we aren't Watford.

This is a good test of "ignore the noise".

I'm a big fan of our Director of Football and Head Coach model. It gives us some stability in the event that one or the other leaves and allows the coach to concentrate on the job in hand and ignore some of the admin that an old-school manager had to juggle. I have no doubt that Webber keeps a secret file of potential Farke successors updated on a regular basis. It would be negligent not to. My concern if Webber does pull the trigger on Farke is that Webber's own contract will be winding up at the end of next season. He's made it clear that he's got ambitions elsewhere so unlikely to extend it again. It's not an easy sell for a new potential HC to come in knowing his boss will be out the door soon after.

To be honest, I'm surprised by that survey - when was it conducted? It seems that there is a massive difference between the various social sites (YouTube, Twitter, FB, etc) and press outlets like the PinkUn. I would estimate that the split was at least 90-10 on the former, and I promise I'm not saying this to serve any personal agenda. It seems the Farke-out feeling may not be as nearly universal as I had supposed.

    1. Tuesday talking point: Where has Farkeball gone?, published at11:03 2 November
Gary Gowers, My Football Writer, external

When you’re no longer stressing over the threat of relegation but have moved on to worrying about if you’re actually going to win a game this season, then you know things are bad.

      And they are bad.

Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat by a pretty ordinary Leeds side was the latest in a long line of blows to the solar plexus for City fans, who have now become immune to the ridicule and mockery that invariably floods in after every game.

We’re good at ignoring the noise though – the mantra of City’s sporting director, Stuart Webber – but harder to ignore is the way Daniel Farke appears to have dispensed with the Farkeball philosophy that he so carefully and lovingly nurtured in his first four seasons at the club.

Even in adversity, there was an easily identifiable Norwich way, which was patient, possession-based football that was silky and easy on the eye. For some sections of the Norwich fanbase it took some getting used to, but we all got there in the end. And we loved it.

What we have now is… well, I’m not quite sure what we have now to be honest, but there’s definitely a bit of Sean Dyche in there.

Quite where we go from here I’m not sure, but if we could see a semblance of the old Farkeball at Brentford on Saturday, that would at least be a start.

As RER (?) mentioned yesterday, opinions are split. But this hits home:-

I would much rather bring in someone to help Farke out than show him the door.

How practical that would be I don't know , it would probably be seen as undermining the head coach and backseat driving.

It wasn't Farke that decided to show off waking out of defence doing stupid tricks or him letting the ball go under him for which looked like a routine save.

It's him that picks the players and tactics though .
It wouldn't kill him to start Idah or bring back Tod , even give Gunn a game.

This is another big game this Saturday just like Watford we can gauge how we have improved or declined against another promoted side.

We all know that we don't win away so I've already written Saturday off as a loss .

I may be wrong (I often am!), but I have a feeling that this Todd issue is having a seriously negative effect on the squad and I wish it could be sorted one way or the other because I worry it's spreading out beyond Todd into other members of the squad. Why play Omo at LB when you have two specialist LBs, one of whom is an up-and-coming 'star' from MU and the other is an established Greek international? It doesn't seem to make any sense and the only explanation I can think of is a split between Farke and several of the squad (but maybe I'm just dramatising and there's a perfectly logical reason?????)
