On Sky last night they were showing modelling which predicted Norwich as champions with 88 points. Swansea & Brentford tied on 85 and us on 80.
I sort of agree with the positioning, but I think the points are a bit low there. I think Brentford will top the league, Swans second and we could finish 3rd. I think Norwich will dry up a bit and not go up in the play-offs. We are bound to get at least play-offs, and if we can get in a scoring mood to match our tightness at the back, then who knows? But I've been tipping Brentford since after only a few games. I don't gamble, but I noticed they were 6-1 to win at one time, and I was telling a few friends who are only aware of Premiership football what good value I thought that was. Much shorter odds now, of course, but I still think they will easily win this league. There are blips of course in this division - remember Championship-winning Cardiff had the double done on them by the bottom-finishing Posh one year, but the Bees' quality will out.
I would project us currently to get to 87 maybe one less at 86. Still don't think that will do better than 3rd but the key is to be within striking distance when we enter those important last 6 games.
mmm.... But Brentford are having a dip.... and without their key player... I tihnk a number of teams will struggle from fatigue..... and the less good squads, think of their squad players, are Brentford and Swansea and Reading..... However we need to be able to score goals with our squad players... Gray ???? ..... iI dont think we will struggle defensively......
Away to Brentford and Norwich and home to Swansea, three games I think we would need to win to stand any chance of top two. A tough ask.
What was I saying? Coventry 2-0 Brentford Huddersfield v Swansea 4-1 (L) QPR v Bournemouth 1-0 (L) “The wheels on the bus come off, off, off...”
I just spotted on Final Score that the four ‘latest’ pieces of information scroll up not down, and I asked Matej if he knew why. He didn’t, so I found this video from 1963 for him, and guess who’s on it?
Watching the teleprinter was de rigeur back then, but I missed them that day - I was hot footing it back to the station having watched that game.
Good evening Thomas Sorry to ruin your eternal pessimism but almost every result went our way this weekend apart from Norwich and everyone is waiting for their wobble
Brentford 3-0 v Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea ahead. We defiantly got the hardest game so be good to win.
That Brentford score is a bugger - it means we need to score six in the second half to go second on the table.
We have 14 games left now so depends on how consistent the teams around us are Winning ten of the fourteen would give us 90 points We have to avoid any more silly defeats
