It is plain to see that the policy of the club under this lot is to make as much profit as we can and living on a hope and a prayer what we will do in the premiership......If you are a passionate fan and most are you want to see an improvement season after season but that is not the case is it. Any good player we ever have that if it was not for them are sold for a huge profit and we replace them with a poor imitator...Huw once said we dont have to sell anyone ! Who is he trying to kid FFS......We should not sell our best players if we want to achieve anything in the premiership......It is a distant memory now when we were confident of beating every big club and we did that often and we were in every newspaper all around the world on how we went from rags to riches as one of the better sides in the world.......All the papers talk about now is how poor we are and look like relegation candidates season after season and while we have scraped home our fans have had nothing to shout about and have had to watch our team disintegrate in front of our own eyes......What a sad club we have become.......Not a selling club <doh> We are the biggest selling club in the premiership and it is only a matter of time before we are relegated and it will be self inflicted........I dont care but many do and it wont be fair on them.....I have seen enough and cant support the current board and chairman as they know what it takes to be a good side but they do the opposite....

Our wages takes up most of our money . , and it will be the same this season . Whatever we save on Siggy will only pay for Bony . 7 seasons in the Premier with a net transfer spend in the black is an awesome achievement and the only reason we are still here . 7 seasons in the Premier and the only difference between season 1 and season 7 is we seem to have a swath of Manchester United type fans expecting impossible things from very little . To complain at this point is pathetic .

As annoying as it is to lose our better players, there's very little we can do about it, it's the nature of the game. Look at Southampton being asset-stripped every summer, other clubs bigger than us have difficulty holding on to their best players.

We were bad yesterday, no getting away from that but we have to give Sanchez time, we can't just lay into him now. You say relegation from the premier league wouldn't be fair on the fans, we all know the deal, we all know it could happen, it's never fair to the fans but 3 teams go down every year!

    1. Ash, Gomis, Ayew, Cork, Gylfi, Llorente, Taylor, Baston have all gone - Our biggest wage earners.
    2. Utter nonsense and will mean **** all if we get relegated this season, which so far has shiown, is possible, again.

I don't think that's the issue tbh. The issue is we've replaced Gylfi, our best player with bang average players, and expensively too, while alarmingly ignored the fact that we needed major surgery in defence and on the wings.

very true, particularly regarding our defence. We're one inevitable injury away from Angel starting in the Premier League and as much as we all know how much of a club legend he is, he will get the runaround. Arias and Yiadom should both have been brought in, neither were particularly expensive by today's standards.

And we should have kept Kingsley too.

It's been mostly downhill since Jenkins dismissed Michael Laudrup, whose appointment put The Swans' on the world map.
Jenkins' falling out with Laudrup's agent was the catalyst for the decline in fortunes of the Club. It was halted briefly under Monk, but he was never the long term answer anyway.

All water under the bridge, of course, but it is what it is.

Swansea City are one of a dozen Clubs who simply make up the numbers in the dreadful Premier League, and will always be at the mercy of the bigger, wealthier, Clubs. Most, if not all, of the players who leave, want to move on to pastures new, and there's not much the Club can do about that.

All Clubs are potentially "selling clubs", since that is part and parcel of their existence. Swansea are no different to anyone else, they buy and they sell, hopefully making profits out of their dealings. Those profits are what will eventually keep the Club in business. Throwing money around because supporters demand it would be insane, and isn't going to happen.
Emotion is what drives supporters, but Club owners have to be more than emotional in their dealings.
Common sense and pragmatism must be their driving force.

It's still early days, but signs are not good. Another season of struggle looms large, and the emotions I referred to above, are starting to boil over.

A heavy loss away to Tottenham will bring pressure to bear on Clement and his back room staff. No manager is safe in the unforgiving world of the Premier League, and Clement may have to start looking over his shoulder.

Really tragic the game I fell in love with in the 1960s has managed to get itself into this state, I feel for you guys regardless of club loyalty it's always the supporters that bear the most heartache.

Gomis was payed by Marselle last season and Taylor was exchanged for Ayew .Williams and Ayew left at the beginning of last season so are a non factor . Bony and Siggy neutralize each other . That leaves Cork , Llorente and Baston that we will save wages on . Now we have to pay Clucas , Mesa , Abraham and Sanches ( 7 million or so alone ) into the new wage bill . Also , we only had to pay half of Narsingh , Carroll and Olsson's wages last season whereas we have to pay the full season for these 3 players this season . We've been promised " Big " signings in January . Are wage bill will probably be higher this season than last . Utter nonsense indeed valley

How thick are you roof? Those players you've named won't command anywhere near the salaries of those we've shipped out.

That is the trouble with some fans they think we have to sell our best players.......NO we dont at all, A club with ambition and want to win anything and be feared by other clubs do not sell all their best players they add better players. You know you are going down hill when you spend Fcuk all and end up in profit when the transfer window closes and the chairman says "We have had a good window" .Totally Bonkers to see a club work so hard to get where we are only to have new owners follow on from the Morgans in running the club down and most certainly dont care if we get relegated... And we fans just put up with it and let this happen and make any excuse we can think of to justify the clubs actions.......Only relegation will some see how dumb they have been and it will be too late...

Problem is that 'Success breeds Success' but failure just breeds failure, and we now have an issue that players don't want to be in a team of losers, so the best want to move on, I expected that we would lose our best after last season, and we see no movement from our board to address this, matter of fact they seem to be enjoying the ability to milk it, which means we will now have a team that is a hotch potch as we saw on the weekend, it's the new norm, which we will have to get used to, and I see gates dropping before anything is done, sad state indeed..............<ok>

The Dross continues.....I dont think Clem has the skill to be the No1 of any team TBH......He is better off as a No2 where he dont have to make decisions....A great talker of the game but poor as a manager that has to perform in the top flight...
