I haven't walked around that part of the City for a long time. But I do remember when I was a kid a really sickly strong smell would hit you further up Wincolmlee.
Is it just me that thinks that's tacky. Wiv? ffs. No ****er says Wiv. It's "With" . I assume its paid advertising though as we wouldn't be promoting the East Riding in one of Hull's busiest streets.
Withernsea artist who has been on display at the Tate Modern before There's other windows in Whitefriargate being done too. Good job there's enough empty ones to use really... https://www.hull2017.co.uk/discover/article/next-stop-costa-del-wiv/
Aah, okay. Yes, of course. I'll be along with my camera later. In hindsight I think its actually really good. It imaginatively propels the viewer forward into the seemingly infinite possibilities that are engendered by the section of the coast which is displayed therein whilst simultaneously pulling them back into a quest for the artists original lost memories of childhood Wiv. ffs. Obv. Brill, innit.
Walked down there for the first time for a long time recently , quite sad really , I remember when it was busy
The current retail model just isn't sustainable - its the same everywhere but it hits places like Hull where incomes are low and rents and rates relatively high very hard
If you have a decent job it's great City to live in. We have a relatively high standard of living. I have friends in the South who are looking to relocate to Hull.
Dave Harrison RH Hull City Council plans to buy & demolish the former BHS/Edwin Davis buildings to make way for a new Ice Arena. It will save the BHS mural. Buying/demolishing the buildings + finding a lead developer will cost more than £5million. The plans could be signed off by Cllrs on Monday.
The fomer Hull College Art & Design building on Park St goes up for auction in London on Thursday, so if you have a half a million or so lying around then this is your chance to bid for a piece of prime site Hull real estated. Listed building status but otherwise a period building with scope for some modernisation and developement, my involment with the place goes back to 1965 when I started day release at Park St. Glad to see it is at least still standing its a lovely builing but of its future I know not the future brings.
Not specifically public realm, although it does mention the cruise terminal and venue etc, but really good article about Hull in a part of Financial Times http://www.fdiintelligence.com/Loca...h-city/(language)/eng-GB#.Wehe2DRRycs.twitter
