I understand that this building was sold at auction today for £1.02 million, to whom and for what purpose I do not know, the reserve was £500,000 so I would assume that the sale at the price given could be regarded as a decent outcome, I'm just pleased that it hasn't been left to rot.
Apparments/flats always seem to be the favourite thought from people I have spoken too, but I think it would also make a good office block but with the more modern former Land Registry building having space available (well it did at one point not sure at this present moment in time) and office use for Park St will be out of the question.
Some swish apartments would be ideal. The city centre area needs a good boost of 3-5 thousand if it is to generate life after 5.30pm
Hamleys Toy Store will be the 19th store to open on Prinny Quay's outlet deck. A bit of a ku (RIP Tickles), they've only got 11 high street stores.
Been up there this morning when my daughter saw the sign from the floor below. I fear for the entire floor - to say the outlet was seen as being a real winner (a bit of a ku indeed) it was absolutely dead compared to the other floors.
There was a 75% increase in footfall in the centre, immediately after the outlet floor opened, I've not been in recently, but junior was there last weekend and said it was the busiest he's seen the centre for years.
David Harrison @DaveHarrisonBBC Hull City Council will buy/demolish former BHS/Edwin Davis buildings to make way for potential new ice arena. Plans given green-light today.
You forget ice hockey, a favourite sport of Geraghty's. We could have another team he pretended there was great interest in and which had, after free tickets and councillors and friends on freebies were deducted from the attendance, about 28 paying customers.
They should have thought about this before planning and building the new Hull Venue! Perhaps I'm being a pessimist!
