*Where the golf equipment used to be displayed. Surprised Game is still going considering how expensive games are in there compared to Tesco, Smyths, Amazon and Argos. The store in Prospect Centre is usually quite empty too and the whole charging people to play on their computers/consoles seems to have tailed off. What happened to letting people play demos in the store?
Not if last time you Visited Garbutts you ended up with food poisoning and a week in bed.Than to discover a few weeks later the kitchen has been closed due to food hygiene issues Dirty gits
Whitefriargate in Hull has received a grant of £1.75m from Historic England. Hull City Council was informed earlier this year that its funding bid, for up to £1.75m for the historic street, had been accepted. Historic England has confirmed that the regeneration project in Hull city centre will receive the full amount.
Great moment in my local chippie the other year. It won the national .Fish and Chip shop award. It was visited by Charles and Camilla. The girl serving asked Camilla if she wanted scraps. Apparently the look of bafflement on her face was a picture.
Apart from the football, seeing family and friends and going on a bar crawl when I'm down for games,I really miss fish and chips(and scraps)!!I've never had decent fish up here,or chips, and they don't do scraps. The white horse cafe in Thirsk gets a visit on the way down and most times on the way up...I'm drooling thinking about it
‘dormant’? presume you mean ‘don’t’? Be interesting I suppose as I think they still own the majority of properties down there?
They own quite a lot of the shops, but not the majority, they basically own all the property around their original site, so most of the right side at the top of Whitefriargate, the top of Princes Dock Street and the left side of Posterngate.
Cheers Not sure how far £1.75m will go down there. Doesn’t seem that much unless the Council are putting cash in too?
Hdm will regurgitate the putting a roof on whitefrigate and making it a place for continental cafes etc etc
The Council have put up £2m in grants that can be used to cover up to 50% of regeneration costs on a unit and they’ve got an application in with the government’s Future High Streets Fund, which could be up to £22m.
it’s been binned completely by HCC, a feasibility study found that the buildings were at too many different heights and it wasn’t a realistic option.
