That seems to contradict a conversation I had with the HCC pensions team about a year ago, but as you say, if they are using some of the criteria, maybe that was it. I'll check at some point but not a burning issue for me.
The council ones are different to the more General public sector ones visa vie Civil servants for DWP . My son works for them and up until recently ( not sure when ) you got the fill entitlement at 55 !
I just did a quick google out of interest and it appears in my circumstance the HCC pensions team were correct. https://www.lgpsmember.org/more/eightyfive.php
I can dig out the actual report from HCC that clearly states they haven't adopted it. I was involved with a few different people looking in to it, so I'm sure of what I say.
Nope, there's a caveat to that. That was the paragraph that I was asked to check out, and it doesn't hold true when you look deeper in to it.
In what way?. It seems pretty clear cut in the wording, but I accept the LGPS is a bit **** and subject to change. The czveats only appear to be for staff retiring between ages 55 and 60.
4.5 Switching back on the 85-year rule (Recommendation - No Change) Regulation 1 (1c) Schedule 2 Transitional Regulations Hull City Council recommendation: No Change to our previous decision. On the grounds of the additional cost to the Council this discretion will only be exercised by Hull City Council in exceptional circumstances. https://cmis.hullcc.gov.uk/CMIS/Doc...WGewmoAfeNQ16B2MHuCpMRKZMwaG1PaO=ctNJFf55vVA=
I haven't read the attachment yet, but strain on fund doesn't spply to the 85 year rule if you sre over 60 does it?. I'll read the report out of interest in a bit but think this is clogging the thread up a bit. Maybe should move to PM
Happy to chat via PM, as I know some people that will be very interested if things have changed. The version I've posted was included in responses they got from the fund administrators in response to specific questions, but can we save it for another night?

Mine was a little different as I was made redundant meaning, because I’m over 50, I got my pension unabated. Obviously I’d have got more if I’d hung around as I’d have been topping it up but I’d had enough. It becomes a sad existence quite quickly waking up with no structure & being restricted because your partner is still working. I now work more hours than I did previously but I’m happier, so **** it.
