The way I see it is that we carry that threat either side of the central striker. Also, you need space in behind so it's all very well on the counter attack but when sides sit deep as they often do against us, somewhat negates the threat and moves break down cos we can't retain possession in the final third. That's not to say we couldn't do with a central striker with more intelligent movement in the box, able to see things early and buy a yard or two of space, but that's as much about nous as it is about raw pace.
I guess I’m being really stupid - not for the first time. So we can’t ‘start ‘ KLP. When can we introduce him to the game? After 5 minutes? 30 mins? 70 seems ok. So we have 5 subs. Could we bring him on after 30 seconds and still keep everyone ‘happy’?
Doubt that would stand up in court as anything other than circumventing t&c's of the current contract, should the agent wish to pursue it.
As the earliest he’s been brought on (despite it being obvious he was what we were lacking) was half time. I suspect that’s the earliest.
Frustrating innit. The only player we have upfront with any real pace and hunger is young KLP. If we do hang on to him I’d like to see him played just behind the front two. Magennis can be inconsistent and Eaves seems to be a bench player at best these days so that leaves Wilks. Midfield wise our game seems to rely on Honeyman having a good game whilst defensively we still seem fragile under pressure so maybe another experienced CB on loan to help settle things down and support young Greavsy on a bit?
Klp behind a front two!!!???? There’s as much chance of that formation as me getting a round in!! were one of the top scorers in the league and have conceded some of the least. It’s why we’re second currently.
Due to the fannying around, no matter who is responsible, the poor sod's going to be dogged by the pressure of expectation now. I don't think his agent or the local media have done him any favours.
alternative view: which retarded retard thought he was being clever by introducing a stupid club-harming rule that nobody else has ever been subjected to? back down? what, from stupidity? which other agents and players have taken it as a victory when a player has been allowed to carry on starting matches. if all players were to be banned from starting games until contract negotiations were over, we wouldn't have enough players to start a game.
Keep everyone happy? KLP might be happy. Whoever gets subbed off wouldn't be. Cut Your Nose Off To Spite Your Face, certainly wouldn't and would probably throw a hissy fit on the touchline with McCann. McCann might be happy until the above happens, and gets his cards immediately after the game.
Isn’t he just, I’d make sure he was on the pitch every time we played if I wer a coach, really rate the lad.
