That may be the case PudseyT, but I was mightedly impressed last week with Slutsky's plan, immediate sub to counter act Bruce bringing Samba on up front at Villa, no hesitation, bang immediate response before Bruce could benefit.
Thought the atmosphere was good yesterday. 11,000 fans there to support City much better than 24k with half of them ****ing themselves off over Rooney etc
Not sure impressed is really the word for that. Couldn't anyone off this board have come up with such a simple plan? If anything, what's impressed me is how open and attacking we seem to be. It might not be the best thing long term and when we start playing better sides but it's nice to see us scoring 4 and worrying about other stuff rather than yet another season of "scoring a goal, it's wor Achilles heel".
This and the fact that we are taking shots, they are predominantly on target and we are ready to follow-up on rebounds. This is very encouraging. Defence needs work and game-time, but we knew that. Further signings are key, as our bench is weak as piss. Wolves will be a great test for us.
It was nice to see an opposition player get sent off instead of one of ours for a change. And they did look two bookable offenses. And we definitely made it count second half. First half was somewhat shaky again with Aina falling asleep a fair bit, but we still had chances. If we get that defence sorted out more we should be looking good.
I don't know whether anyone else noticed, but there appears to be a friendship between Grosicki and Hernandez developing.
Like the two halfwits in the gym today...One in United shirt, one with a Everton tattoo.....North Hull's finest!!!
Interesting to see Aina in there. Obviously he had an assist but do defensive errors count if they don't lead to goals?
The defence was shaky first half, but not that similar otherwise. We should have scored more first half (started well) , and second half they were down to 10 men and were out of the game.
Of the Championships early top-scorers, it seems Abel is the most clinical... Bobby Reid Bristol City 3 Goals scored 1 Assists Shots on target 50% Abel Hernández Hull City AFC 3 Goals scored 0 Assists Shots on target 56% Lewis Grabban Sunderland 3Goals scored 0 Assists Shots on target - 38%
@HullCityLive Abel Hernandez has played 3281 mins in the Championship (exc. Stoppage time). Equivalant to 36.4 games and scored 24 goals. #hcafc @hullcity Some return that....
3 points are 3 points every day of every week! Nice to win that tricky first home game and keep going on forward. Well done, Hull City.
