Well we only got one point but we obviously created enough chances to win two games. A draw is another point towards the finish and there is a lot of pressure at this stage of the season. Just keep taking it a game at a time. No targets to put pressure on. Keep playing like this and the chances will go in. No need to panic. Other teams have to play each other and the games in hand can soon disappear. I think we will do it.
Are you and Peterboro going to be winning every game from now until the end of the season? The form we are in and how comfortable we are seeing off teams, I don't think we'll drop any more than 7 points until the end of the season and that should be more than enough to win the league.
Hi Saff, hope your geegees are proving profitable. I wouldn't say beating Bristol Rovers 1 nil is that comfortable tbh. But, fair play to you, at least you won. Go easy bud.
Hello mate. We were never in trouble today and could have played another 90 minutes and Bristol still wouldn't have scored. 8 wins and 2 draws out of 10. We have hammered a couple teams but winning most by 1 or 2 goals and doing it with plenty in hand. I never bet today. I don't like the flat racing it's not my thing. I'll have a good bet at Aintree and then that's me done until September/October. Did you have any winners today?
I was thinking exactly the same. If you're watching City on ifollow then you can't be watching Peterborough and vice versa. Unless, you are paying for both streams and watching one after the other.
I'm having a few days off Saff. I wasn't enjoying it at all and I had 5 consecutive losing days so was getting frustrated with too many second places. The worst thing is if I had bet the last three days I would have been in profit by £380. Sods law lol.
The game should have been over by halftime but as usual at home we struggle to put teams away. Eaves was magnificent in the first half but I felt the referee gave him nothing in the second half and he got frustrated. The game would have been ours had Greaves headed downwards. Never mind, we go again next week. Still a long way to go.
Well Hume is coming back for us SAFC, if McGeady had been left in our team we would have been on about 73 points now we know we can go to Peterborough and get a result now, with this team we fear no team now, and must win the league.
It was a game that started well and the first half was an enjoyable watch. The 2nd half slowly got more frustrating to watch as it increasing looked as if we just weren't going to take our chances, and in the end, we were lucky not to concede in the last minute. Eaves, Docherty, KLP & Greaves were all guilty of missing good chances, and how Greaves missed his, IMO, was purely down to him relaxing momentarily, believing it was such an easy chance that he thought it was a formality to score. In those situations, which playing I've experienced, sometimes you are thinking about the celebration before it was gone in, and in doing that you lose concentration and fluff it. I don't think he will do that again. I thought Slater has a reasonable game, and Eaves in the first half played well, but McCann should have subbed him earlier as he was obviously tiring. KLP, apart from his finishing had a good game, his movement is very good, he just needs to start getting his conversion rate improved. Overall, I didn't think it was a bad performance, apart from the finishing, and if Greaves had scored I think we would have run out comfortable winners.
Peterborough may have won 7-0. But just look at how rank bad Accrington were defensively. They were an absolute shambles. That’s some of the worst defending I have seen, for practically every goal.
You don't think match fitness played a part. The way they stopped Eaves was to ride him like a donkey after he was giving them the run around. Ref gave him sod all.
I agree and thought he was unlucky in some of the fouls he was supposed to have committed and had a very decent first half, for me if we want promotion then Wilks who has been our main goal scorer has got to lift his game another 20%. He has done well this season even though he is the most one footed footballer I’ve seen, he’s strong, bully’s full backs ect but if I was the manager I would want more from him. Get him back on his game and it could make the difference. Give KLP some shooting practice has well.
