Burnsy will be commentating on this one, as they still have the Grimsby rights.

In 1998 Grimsby made more pizzas than any other area of Europe–more, in fact, than Italy.

Grimsby was founded in the 9th century by a Danish Viking called Grim. In Norse mythology, Grim (Mask) and Grimnir (Masked One) are names adopted by the deity Odin (Anglo-Saxon Woden) when travelling incognito amongst mortals.

Grimsby is noted in the Orkneyinga Saga in this Dróttkvætt stanza by Kali Kolsson:We have waded in mire for five terrible weeks; there was no lack of mud where we were, in the middle of Grimsby. But now away we let our beaked moose [ship] resound meerily on the waves over the seagull's swamp [sea] to Bergen.

It's actually titled "Great Grimsby" to distinguish it from Little Grimsby, a village about 14 miles (22 km) to the south, near Louth.

Grimsby does not have town walls. It was too small, but the town did have a ditch.

The Grimsby Dock Tower was made using one million bricks.

The first two legitimate steam trawlers ever built in Great Britain were based in Grimsby.

Elton John's 1974 track 'Grimsby' was written by Bernie Taupin about his time in the town as a teenager. One line reads: "Oh England you’re fair, but there's none to compare with my Grimsby. Through nights of mad youth, I have loved every sluice in your harbour."

The first North Sea natural gas find was made only 40 miles from Grimsby on September 17 1965. The Sea Gem oil rig involved in the find later collapsed while it was being moved to another site, killing 13 men.

Had the German invasion been successful, Grimsby would have been one of the first landing points in the north of England.

The Royal Dock was used as the UK's largest base for minesweepers to patrol the North Sea. The 'Patrol Service' ensured that it lost more vessels than any other branch of the Royal Navy during the Second World War.

Grimsby has been named the green energy capital of the UK having the highest percentage of electricity consumption met by renewable generation.

I'm expecting a similar line up to Harrogate. Hope we see a few goals go flying in. Terry seems to be taking the competition seriously enough.

So long as it’s one more goal than these yellow belly bastards I’ll be more than happy....
I was always told the reason why they are called yellow bellies was either a tunic that had a yellow front or that they ran off during a certain battle.
Hopefully they’ll run off tomorrow night !!!!

Prostwich ? made his debut ? I went too on a bus from Tigers Lair. Humbs finest flagged us down just outside GY and wanted to turn the bus round and send us back to Hull on the grounds that 'some of you have been drinking'. We had emptied the bus of beer etc at the lay bye before we were stopped.
I asked since when has it been a criminal offence for someone aged over 18 to drink beer ?
    They let us go.
**** hole of a place. It was still 1970 when we got there.
