In which case a perfect opportunity to get shot. I wouldn't be surprised if Terry's record managing City in The Championship is one of the worst, if not the worst, on record
Is Tony Pulis doing anything? He'd install some bottle and a get out of the bottom three plan. But would he work with Jose Allam?
Here's one to rival Josh's. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/12439438/missed-pen-smashes-steward
Then this is the perfect time for him to go, 1, he's not up to the job 2, give's his replaement a fighting chance of repairing the damage , if he doesnt go we're down by christmas.
Need a change just to bring new ideas in, looked at last nights team apart from Bernard, it was a division one team. Once a side are promoted you always need to add 2/3 of real quality which because of wage structure I don’t think we did. Yes we brought players in all lower league and a player who had only played half the games in the championship. Despite what many think we do lack quality so if a new man did come in he will have his work cut out however different setup/organisation ect could make a difference. Don’t know how much Peterborough have strengthened but they looked rubbish has well, we threw it away because of lack of finishing. Blackpool have done better again haven’t got a clue what signings they have made. Often now it’s not down to transfer fees but wage structure. Going forward change and At least we have a small chance but has it stands no chance.
The usual stuff from our leader. Can’t think of how he could have been given an easier ride by an interviewer. The bottom line is the same though. Football is a results based business and he isn’t getting the results. The buck stops with Grant and he knows that. He has no idea how to proceed to get better results. He needs to go and quick.
Wouldn't disagree with most of what you've said, I actually believe we've got at least half a dozen very good players who are more than capable of playing at Championship level, it's simply that under McCann it's not being reflected on the pitch, they look devoid of ideas, frustrated, and at face value constrained by McCanns instructions.
On the other hand, v Posh, the Magennis penalty smacks the angle of the post and bar and bounces into the net. Eaves late header hits the underside of the bar and bounces behind the goal line and Wilkes last minute shot smacks against the post and into the net. Can you imagine if it had of done with the ref blowing for time when the ball was in mid flight ? The difference between victory and defeat is often fine lines, lucky bounces and of course a bit of quality where it matters. Ours limped off on 28 minutes last night.
Fine lines indeed UP, that said thought we were dire last night, and not for the first time this season. Last night was up there with the Derby game as one of the worst this season, poor performance! Totally agree, what quality we had limped off after 28 minutes. nb. Fine lines, you forgot to mention Hudds shot which hit the post! Fine lines!
FWIW, I don't think the interviewer gave him an easy ride. He did ask him about fans calling for his head among other questions. He did it in a civil grown up way, which is right. Pointless being disrespectful.
Definitely have probably three quarters of a team that are good enough at this level unfortunately we lack in certain positions which along with a lack in ideas is costing us.
Anyone else think we won't see much of Huddlestone this season? Two and a half games-worth so far and injured again. He was never going to be a regular starter but 1 injury followed by a lengthy recovery time, then off again last night, doesn't bode well.
Have to agree, as soon as he left the pitch last night, my thoughts were, you've come back to soon , and when that happen's its usually a longer lay off than the first time.
Very true when a player bursts a gut to create a good chance it needs putting away and at the other end mistakes happen but need to be wiped out quickly. Otherwise you lose and that’s what’s happening
Adkins is available. Sacked by Charlton. We need someone to coach/coax some confidence into this team.
Just mentioned on the Adkins thread, that's 3 ex city managers held in a certain amount of esteem that have gone in the last week or so, all of which had better records at this level, yet McCunt stays ... work that one out !
OLM produced a stat weeks ago based on what has happened post Bowen and Grosicki... maybe he can update it .?
