I dont see anything wrong with the keeper there mate. It looks like a deflection took it past him or her would have sucked that one up. Positioning seemed fine, to me.
Really? That's a lot of near post space. Number one rule is to cover that post and he wasn't close imo. Have to disagree fella, think he's looked weak near post every game he's played.
Aye marginal, didn't change direction much though and it deflected to his'Safest side' It could have deflected 4ft to the right and still gone in there was that much space.
He was only about a yard away, so I think he had it covered. If he had have went any further to the post, he would have literally left the full goal to shoot at on the other side. It went at him so he would have saved it, but for the deflection.
Most teams in this league up against a hull team who played as badly as that would have seen that game out comfortably. We have always seemed to have had a knack of not taking advantage of our opponents having a stinker. If the roles were reversed today, we would have lost that game comfortably. Mostly always been the same, no matter what league we have been in.
So is the full team. That result was purely down to Simon Grayson and his tactics. Not our scapegoats fault this week.
For years it's looked like we are fearful or embarrassed to put a team to the sword - in the way that others do it to us.
Hello I'm Dawn Thewliss from Look North. I've just squirted having a **** as Sunderland ****ed up again.
we move on, looking f It might be that we are not capable, no quality at all in the present team, and some poor substitutions have not helped to-day, a second goal would have killed them off, but their subs were better than ours.
If he spread himself he would have covered his original position. I think he makes himself small, immobile due to his weight distribution and wouldn't have got to it went direct into the bottom corner. He knows a shot is coming but it looks like the only way he was saving that is if it was straight at him. He didn't gamble and he actually slumped forward bending his knees so was never set up to cover his right. Bet he concedes even more at the near post in the coming months, looks a weak area to me. I may be a bit harsh but it's not the first time he's been beaten near post this season. Hell of a shot stopper from range though.
Oh defo, it was end to end, the only thing stopping Hull from fully committing to an all out attack. Grayson's subs and tactics allowed them to raise their back line well beyond the halfway line. We were never getting out of our own half from then, was a matter of time.
Meyler's shot was going straight back to Ruiter. Kone then tucks it into the near post I'm not blaming Ruiter for that one. He made some great saves today and without those we would be looking at 5 straight defeats.
Think your freeze frame flatters him. This is after the deflection his hands and foot are behind the ball, if his momentum was set to cover his near post(from that position) then he parries it all day long. Had his position been a yard towards the near post his near post is covered and he's getting a full block on it moving the opposite way. Me tinks it's weak keeping personally. Wouldn't be too fussed if it was isolated. Becoming a bit of a concern to me. But it's all about opinions init. Biggest bad was Grayson by a mile imo.
Is that Catts closing down Meyler as he shoots, possibly in the keepers and Kone's line of vision, hmmm.
