I'm not blaming the keeper there. He's got to cover the other post as well.

Quite literally a game of two halves today.

First half we were brilliant. The best I've seen a Sunderland team pass the ball in years. Vaughan led the line brilliantly and took his goal well. Matthews and Oviedo were good as was Ndong and Ruiter looked solid.

Second half. We'll Wtf. A story we've seen so many times before when we are 1-0 up.

Sat back, invited pressure and eventually succumbed. You could see it coming a mile off.

I'll let Grayson off a little bit as he didn't have a wealth of options from the bench but bringing Rodwell and Jones on was bizarre.

****ing Rodwell booked after about 3 seconds.

Having Watmore Mcgeady fit gives us far better attacking options. Even better when Maja and Grabban are back.

Feel a bit more positive after that. Was imperative that we didn't lose and there were glimmers of hope

There is no ffs button at the bottom if the post!! I can't like it because I'd fancy my 12 year old son to be better positioned. And he is now a striker and hasn't played in goal for 2 seasons!!!!

I've always liked him, mate. I think he could do a job in the Premiership.

I don't get this mate. What do you want him to do? Literally stand on the post and leave the striker the full goal to blast it in across him, or do what he done and that's come off the line a couple of yards and move in a bit off the post to narrow the angle for the striker to finish it? His position couldn't have been that bad because the ball was going straight down his throat until it took a deflection.

Most our best 11 could mate I reckon. Wilson, Kone, Oviado, Catts, Ndong, Maca, Mcgeady, Willams, Watmore. Think even Gooch and Honeyman could grow into top flight players in time(bottom half level at best though) Just a shame the rest look out of their depth at Championship level. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Just seen the goal and it's absolutely a goalkeeping error, even with the deflection he has time to react to that.

    McManaman looked very good.

Thought Catts ran the show first half. Second half Meyler came on for us and changed the game, we dominated after that. I like Meyler but pirlo he isn't.
Think that shows how **** both teams are to be honest.
Going to be a long season for us both.
    Good luck

Looking at the stats I'm a bit happier, they had way more possession and shots than us so usually you'd take a draw in that situation.

I'm not a fan of stats mate. Most teams are going to have more possession than us this season, that's how we set up to play. Shots don't tell you if they went close or were just blasting them high and wide from 30 yards out.
