Big Josh comes across very very well in this, eloquent & credible - there’s a future manager in there!!
We're at odds of 1/1000 for promotion with Oddschecker now, but my ring's still quivering with nerves at the thought we might **** it up
Is it just me, but regards Elder while his attacking play is good and his delivery at set plays are good as well , its his defending that's got me a little bit worried opposition wide player's seem to getting around him quite often.
Wouldn't surprise me if he's getting a bit knackered. He's played a lot of games this season and he certainly puts the yards in up and down that wing.
I thought their guy slide in, Elder sought to get out of the way and in doing so let their guy take the ball. He had a word with the lino who blanked him. Defo City free kick. Same lino gave the pen. How he could see that, he must have x-ray eyes.
While I agree with the ridiculous penalty decision I must disagree with your first point .. afraid their lad wanted it more .. no foul there for me .. Elder should have been braver and lumped it out of play.
Maybe also fair to say, something that David Meyler referred to is that KLP should be doing more to protect his full back.... we all used to slate Groswicki for the same...
Yes in the previous game, but I thought he was clearly fouled last night. Anyway, in general, the answer is no, they're not. Elder is the defender least dribbled past, certainly in L1, but I have a feeling the stat I saw was across all 4 divisions.
Yes, just checked, was across all 4 divisions. Also 3rd in key passes by defenders across all 4 divisions.
Agree, deffo a city free kick. Their guy didn't take the ball though, he didn't touch the ball, he just took Elder out! Elder should anyway have just booted it into touch; it was his ball. Really poor decision ... as was the penalty - incredibly harsh - even IF it did hit Elder's arm, his arms were in a totally natural position and the ball was played from literally inches away!! But all panned out ok in the end. The important thing was to avoid defeat. Draw was a fair result. And an unexpected added bonus of Peterboro losing. Jobs a good 'un. As good as up now .. .barring what would be a ridiculous sequence of results (for us and others) - ain't gonna happen.
I guess that is both the strength and weakness of 433. With our 'wingers' not particularly supporting them, it does place a lot of pressure on the fullbacks. Most teams do tend to attack us from there. Despite that, both fullbacks manage to support the attackers too (Elder possibly more so than Coyle). I wonder how they will adapt at a higher level, when we won't have the ball as much?
Bit like the dick who said slater would be taking up the docs playing time as doc hasn’t done enough Arf
