There were more deaths involving knives in the U.K. last year, than any other year since records began (76 years ago).
Didn't witness the incident, Pus and his group were sat on a adjacent table to us on the train home. it was him i recall saying the knife was pulled out on and don't remember him or anyone saying they took the knife off the Sheffield lad, that said it was all a long time ago DBT and i have remembered the basics of the conversation only. If yours was the night match and the train back was a Special its got to be the same incident. For the person asking about calling cards and Millwall that reminded me of another incident again in the 80's, one home game against Millwall. JR while walking down Hawthorne Ave alone got jumped by 10 Millwall, striped twice down his back with one of them calling cards left beside him.
Mini Swansea so are we a swan or a sea… I was listening to them and thought the exact thing..”the Swansea way “ **** sake lol They really liked ikkle Vaughan though…
What a differance to the early days v Millwall. 1970, one of their famous F troop was left marooned in Paragon station. Big lad too who had all the skinhead gear on, which impressed us, sheepskin, white stay-press trousers, a better Ben Sherman than us and massive blood red docs half way up his leg, he was a smart lad. They'd been a lot of chasing each other around the station and this lad had turned the wrong way. I was with a few mates and we came across him cowering near the ticket office, he'd missed his train and he expected a kicking. Instead, we took him for a pint in town and showed him the delights of Hull on a Saturday night and my mate put him up for the night. Went to Southend one Friday night, late 90's early 2000? to see City and one of our lads had arranged to meet some of the old Millwall lads in a pub there, they turned up too, one of them had lost an eye at football. and they were a right bunch of characters. Differance to today was, we had been talking football with some real old faces from one of the most notorious hooligan gangs of the 70's and left all shaking hands and the same night, our independent bus was parked near some waste gound and a little toe rag on a mountain bike, about 14, put the back window in with a brick, then came back and took a selfie of it ! The police said he'd 'got a result' but wouldn't let us go until a replacement bus arrived from Hull. We got home about 7.00 am on the Saturday morning. The game finished 0-0.
I can't remember all the details myself. Was a night match I think (trips there blend into one) and I know Pus was involved, thankfully. I know someone gave me a knife as I shat myself and dropped it in someones dustbin! (could have been someone else just palming theres off on me as the coppers were arriving mind you)
Welsh accents commentating on football sound wrong. More used to their hearing their dulcet tones on the (proper) rugby
Indeed, and explains why the resourceful trendy would always have his cagoule on for trips to inclement Lancashire, some would even nab their grandfather's deerstalker hats, the old bill would be fooled into thinking what sensible young football fans they were with their brollies.
This handbags at ten paces is getting bigged up all over social media. Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. Who ever posts this stuff wants thier head looking at.
Don’t shout but my mates hate our Wise Men Say ‘ ‘ anthem ‘ every week they complain. They thinkCaravan of Love is almost acceptable - Gold by Spandau has been adopted a bit by the Nth Stand - can we all influence the owners to drop the first one at least - and give my ears a rest
It does my head in a bit how we're always going round in circles with this. We have some club songs that have been ours for years but people always seem to want to change them or come up with new ones. Yes, one of them is also enjoyed by Sunderland and other clubs. So what? It's also ours and has been for decades. I've seen a few people complain that they don't like the version of Can't Help Falling in Love that's played in recent seasons. Personally I think it's the best version to play at the ground, a lot more upbeat and celebratory than the Elvis one.
