Another long trek for the canary faithful this weekend with a trip to play the tigers on Humberside. Pretty much honours even between the two teams over the years, with Norwich winning 14, losing 15 and drawing 10. In the most recent meeting, 13/3/2019, Norwich edged a tight match 3-2. Fortunately, Hull's former tormentor-in-chief, Jarrod Bowen, now plies his trade with West Ham. Congratulations are due for one of the most hideous shirts of all time! please log in to view this image Stay tuned for team news, pundits predictions, etc as the week unfolds. OTBC!
Agree about the shirt. It looks like something Catwoman's accomplices might wear in the 1960s Batman series.
Not great, but I was expecting worse. Depending on Byram's injury, we might be able to cover the absence without dipping into the market? At least there's a few weeks for McCallum to impress before the transfer deadline.
Agreed it’s not great, but McCallum has played at this level for the last 2 seasons and we have to trust that he is good enough. Gia would be my first choice but he’s hardly been great in the first couple of games so let’s trust McCallum. Byram to come back in and Sorensen able to cover - only worry there is that we then lose our defensive mid and CB cover
Certainly an opportunity, but equally I wouldn't mind an extra defensive player. We're thin everywhere really, even if that's mainly caused by injuries- DM, CB, fullback. Sorensen currently covers everywhere! Smith confirms that Sara will start tomorrow and to expect changes. Curious what that looks like, because it feels like we still need to build fluency in the first team, and that's perhaps more important than giving fringe players minutes. Perhaps Pukki up top with a different supporting cast to try and find a supply line? An opportunity for Sinani, etc to show what they can do is no bad thing, I just hope there's more than individual performances to take from the game.
Unlikely, but would love to see: Gunn Aarons O'dele Hanley Sørensen(McCallum if fit) Sara Núñez Sinani Dowell Cantwell Pukki
Prutton predicts....... Issuing his score prediction for this weekend’s clash via his Sky Sports column, David Prutton believes that Dean Smith’s side will pick up their first win of this Championship campaign with a 2-1 triumph. The verdict Hull have started the season strongly, however, this is likely to be the most testing fixture of their opening three, that is despite a slow start from the Canaries thus far. The Tigers, who have recruited well during the summer, will be eager to continue their progression and improve on last season’s 19th-placed finish, something that is certainly achievable when considering the level of the squad. For Norwich, it will all be about returning immediately to the Premier League, with tomorrow’s fixture presenting itself as a great opportunity to secure their first three points of the season. It will be no surprise to see the Norfolk club winning this one by a fine margin, but equally, Hull certainly possess the individuals to secure a positive result.
Team news: "Sam McCallum has had surgery on a metatarsal fracture. He is expected to return after the World Cup break. Smith particularly pleased that Gabriel Sara got 60 minutes. Both Todd Cantwell and Ben Gibson trained yesterday and are back this weekend."
Well the other 2 shirts are really nice . The My Little Pony inspired design isn't really doing it for me
Prutton is a Hull lad. He always predicts a defeat. I suppose it comes with the territory, but on this occasion he might actually be right.
Impossible to call as we are still suffering a hangover from getting thrashed every week in the Prem. Our away form was horrendous. If Hull score early and heads drop they might grind out a win like Cardiff, if Norwich play anywhere near their potential it could be an easy win . Things still haven't clicked under Dean Smith but we are the bookies favourite to win the league for good reason
We're heading for the inevitable bubble burst game. It might come tomorrow or at Burnley on Tuesday or at West Brom next week. The next three games might go a long way to defining our season. BTW It's going to be as warm as toast in the park at 3pm in west Hull. That might have an effect on the outcome.
