It's probably well known now, but for those that don't, the name Emma Peel was derived from the objective of "man appeal" (man appeal = m appeal = emma peel). I'd say they achieved their objective extremely well.
That is a classic theme, of which that time had so many. The same guy (Edwin Astley) also wrote Randall & Hopkirk and Danger Man (and with that track record probably a few others I don't know of).
