Swampy is fortunate to live in a democracy, where his freedoms and rights are protected by the rule of law.

This is not something that should ever be taken for granted, because if divisive flag waving ****s like Nigel Farage ever really get their way, those freedoms will be lost.

I'm not sure how that's relevant in this conversation?

Julia pointed out that it was embarrassing what Jeremy Corbyn was called out for, I pointed out that it wasn't an embarrassment as it wasn't baseless and the party was found guilty under his leadership.
Found guilty by who, though? That was my point. The Tories got accused of something similar and they wanted nothing to do with it.
It's not an organisation whose investigations are worth following, in my opinion.

So can I ask an uneducated question... Or two..

Why don't the U.N. Step in, isn't that what they're for?

And how come the Yanks ain't all over there up in people's grills? Why don't the go an liberate palastine? They love a good old liberation usually don't they?

Makes me laugh how the west picks and chooses who's worthy of freedom or liberation init

You've hinted at the answer to your first question in your second one.
This is from 2017, so they've missed a few since then, but the US won't allow UN interference in the situation:
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/43-times-us-has-used-veto-power-against-un-resolutions-israel
They blocked a statement about a ceasefire a couple of days ago.

There's a significant pro-Israel lobby over there and a lot of them are evangelical Christians hoping for the end times, rather disturbingly.
A lot of the key events have to happen there, including lots of death and destruction. Lovely. <ok>

I'll give you my uneducated asssumptions, then you can compare them with other answers.

1. U.N - They are just a joke. Although they do have history of if you don't comply with their views they send in bombs of peace. That will NEVER happen in the case of Israel.

2. America - It's Jews suppressing Muslims so they don't care. Israel has Nukes for a reason. You will have seen video clips of Donald Trump with his cock up the Israeli presidents backside during the US Presidents reign.

Shoulda just said..
As Israel’s biggest ally – the US gives Israel around $3bn in aid annually, largely military, each year.

I was watching an interview with a Palestinian man this morning, he lives on the Gaza side of the strip (divided land). He would like to visit Jerusalem. He said he can never visit Jerusalem - I took by that he meant he would never be allowed to visit, rather than not wanting to visit.

How's that a problem in my uneducated guess, it's a problem because Jerusalem as I understand it, no one should have control over, it should be open to all religions.

But nothing will happen because isreal is the middle Eastern arm of the good ole US of A.

these people will still keep getting slaughtered and murdered and persecuted and no one will do **** cos the Yanks have fingers in all pies and can **** up anyone not on the same page in one way or another. Sanctions, trade, even war.

Its so traditionally rotten from the core its actually sickening (big govt)

I think the biggest problem with Americans is they don't really understand the rest of the world or the complexities of it. America is nothing more than one massive union identity, virtually identical whereever you go, apart from the weather and social divides. Americans don't travel 'abroad' to the same sense of degree that Europeans do (I'm including the UK in that definition). Americans just know America as being great, and see themselves as being superior to everyone else, whereas in reality they are as dumb as you can get, once you take away their armoury. Big brash Americans.

Im not sure they still do it but pledging alligiance to the flag in schools.

Even when I was I child I saw that for what it was, brainwashing indoctrination.

Burn it into em young.

Dangerous ****. And no diff from saying jesus is better than Allah and vise versa just moulding someone into that type of thinking is bad news.

I think part of America's problem is they only know one flag, and they think everyone should bow to it. Your great stars and stripes. I'm miles apart from many people that post on here, when it comes to flags. I think one identity is a bad thing, many would disagree with me ie EU vs Brexit. To me it's like cloning of the human race and eroding cultures, which imho is gradually happening anyway, but I'll be well gone before we reach that stage. Like I say that's just my opinion though. Even travel and migration erodes languages in to one form, generally English in the West. Humans are lazy, they will always go for a simplistic option than have to work at something. People will denounce flags but won't do the same with the EU flag, and there's your problem straightaway for me, because I see that as no different than the stars and stripes, using your own words, brainwashing indoctrination, I couldn't have put it better myself.

I think you’re being unduly harsh on the UN, and have misunderstood their function. The UN has issued 45 resolutions concerning Israel, but is powerless to enforce any of them. It’s difficult to enforce international resolutions without international consensus, and in this case the nation getting in the way of consensus is the USA. Doesn’t mean it’s not worth trying though.

Some of them prefer this one, to be fair:

Wait til they add DC and/or Puerto Rico and have to change all of them. Some flag companies are going to be raking it in.
