In unlikely event we win tonight, we will push on to the Play-offs. Lose, and we continue our miserable spiral down to mid-table. At mid-table, if we stutter on to the finishing line with confidence shattered, players bewildered, fans disgruntled, many will lose faith in PC and owners will think seriously about end season options. So, lets be positive, my head says 0-3, my heart shouts an amazing night, everything clicks, Capt fantastic Morsey thumps in the 1st goal, and we win 2-1 in a thriller. Ha, bloody ha, call the sanitorium!
a draw seems less likely? we’re not making many clear cut chances and we’re missing the few we do. They are really motoring in that respect. 0-2. still think cook will make it to the end of the season but from the board room to the coaches to the players they all said promotion was the aim so they have to be judged against that stated ambition at the end. And progress to date has not been great. still, it’s a lot more fun the last few years!
I would surprised to see a draw tbh. Could be seen as a good result for us, but really we do need a win to push on with renewed confidence. And yes, Bucky, it has been much more enjoyable this season, to watch at times, a re-invigorated Ipswich team, that promises much, but often falls flat!
So much better to watch and genuine optimism. If given time I think Cook will get it right eventually but he also took a big risk getting rid of a whole squad and bringing in really high quality players for this division, as others have said if we don't achieve promotion this season and don't look like we might the next, do those players regret the risk they took coming here when they've either come from a team in a higher division or most certainly could've done. To be honest, the season isn't going much differently from what I expected, yes we have quality but changing a whole team, including coaching and backroom staff, things aren't going to click. For me if we finish in and around the playoffs and it looks like we'll really kick on next season I'd be happy.
I also believe this will be a tough test and possibly beyond us. We do have a habit of playing our best football on Tuesdays - the 6-0 hammering over Doncaster and the two impressive away wins at Wycombe and Portsmouth. So hopefully that plays a psychological part. I'm feeling weirdly optimistic and I'm going to do a Big Al and predict a Town 2-1 win.
1-3 defeat unfortunately. We'll go 1 up early doors, probably from Chaplin, but two quick goals before the break and we go 1-2 down. As per the previous games, we'll have all the possession and chances in the 2nd half, but a sucker punch in the last few minutes kills the game off for us.
Cagey opening - Rotherham with the better opportunities but I’m liking early signs of the attacking midfield trident of Fraser, Celina, and Chaplin. Find it a bit strange Chaplin is out wide and Celina at 10 though.
Celina needs to be out left, Chaplin behind Bonne, but Town finding their feet, kept a clean sheet so far. Promising spell.
Fraser really isn't a wide players. Look more dangerous with Chaplin in support of Bonne though. Rotherham look the best team I've seen at this level so far. Nsiala still petrifying me and Evans powder puff
Not sure what Evans brings to the game, ineffective. Millers are very strong and agressive, and seeing to Morsey every time.
