Brilliant that Cheers Lucaaas What a player he has been over the years. I remember the first game I saw him play for the reserves and thought how unbelievably complete his game was even then. When he broke into the first team he just seemed like one of the most gifted and athletic players I'd ever seen at that age. Unbelievable just thinking back how many times Gerrard combined with Owen through that early period...one of those almost telepathic understandings that I guess comes from playing together from such a young age. Can't wait to see him back and fingers crossed he can stay fit and give us a few more years of his quality it's a bit of a cliche I know but it really will be like having a new signing.
class, Id forgotten how good he was, particularly with the crossing, since hes been out for so long. His long shots dont seem as good recently though, when he was younger they were only second to Riise
He was one of our best players in the treble season fairplay. For a period of time he was actually unplayable and as good as Michael Owen was at the time. If Heskey had a bit of self belief then he'd be a much, much better player.
