Lee Cook came through 70 minutes of action as the Reserves drew 0-0 with Fulham at Harlington this afternoon.

The R's midfielder, who has been limited to just one First Team appearance this season owing to extra rehab work needed on a knee problem, looked lively throughout in a game largely dominated by the hosts.

Ronnie Jepson named a strong starting line-up, which also included Matt Connolly, Dan ****tu, Martin Rowlands, Akos Buzsaky and Rob Hulse, and his men enjoyed the majority of possession.

Hulse almost gave the R's the lead as early as the sixth minute but his downward header from close range went just wide, while Cook forced Fulham stopper Jesse Joronen into a fine stop with a powerful drive from 25 yards.

Just before the break, Fulham's Alexander Brister saw his shot from the edge of the area brilliantly saved by Radek Cerny at the near post.

Emerging youth product Michael Doughty was introduced at half-time and immediately made an impact, getting on the end of a fine reverse pass by Petter Vaagan Moen, but his shot from inside the area was smothered.

Doughty was again in the thick of the action on the hour mark after a trialist - playing at right back for the R's - pulled the ball back from the byline, but the midfielder's effort from 12 yards was deflected wide.

On 68 minutes, ****tu almost grabbed the winner for QPR with a glancing header from Cook's free-kick on the right, but the Rangers' centre-back's clever flick came back off the upright.

Fulham had a good chance late on following a quick counter-attack, but Cristian Marquez-Sanchez blazed over from 12 yards.

QPR Reserves: Cerny, Trialist (Parker, 80), Borrowdale, Rowlands (Doughty, 46), Connolly, ****tu, Cook (Tofas, 70), Hewitt, Hulse (German, 65), Buzsaky, Vaagan Moen.
