Arthur Melo, Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones: Liverpool injury list and potential return matches
    1.
    Andy Robertson

    What happened?

The Scotland captain sustained a knee injury in Liverpool’s 4-1 Champions League loss to Napoli last month.

    What’s been said

Speaking ahead of the Brighton game, Klopp revealed Robertson was making good progress but could not say when he’d be back.

The Reds boss said: He’s doing really well. It looks really good so he’s not out for long.
    Potential return game

Arsenal (A), Sunday 9 October or Rangers (A), Wednesday 12 October.

    2. Arthur Melo
Arthur had only trained with the first-team squad the day before the clash.

    What’s been said

Arthur arrived at Anfield short of fitness but played twice for the under-21s last month to improve his conditioning.

His agent, Federico Pastorello, told CalcioMercato: “The difference between England and Italy in this aspect is huge, so there was this need to make up for the physical gap with his teammates,’ Pastorello continue

“Now, he has recovered and is at the coach’s disposal. I have no doubt that he will do very well in a Liverpool shirt.”

    Potential return game

    Unknown.

    3.Curtis Jones
Before the loss to Napoli, Klopp told that Jones’ injury isn’t as bad as the first time.

The Reds boss said: “Curtis, when he was out previously, had a stress reaction in a specific bone around the tibia.

“It was absolutely fine, no problem anymore. Trained twice, felt it again.

“It’s not as bad as the first time, but it’s bad enough to not be involved in team training again, which is not very helpful.”

    Potential return game

    Unknown.

    4.Naby Keita
    What happened ?

Keita has made just one substitute appearance for Liverpool this season, which came in the Community Shield defeat of Manchester City in July.

The midfielder was first ill before picking up a muscle injury. As a result, Keita has been omitted from Liverpool’s Champions League squad.

    What’s been said

    5. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
    What happened ?

The former Arsenal midfelder has been on the treatment table since July. He tore his hamstring in a friendly against Crystal Palace during Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia.

    What’s been said

Like Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain has also been left out of the Reds’ Champions League squad.

“The expected return date was somewhere in October, that’s why we had to make the decision. With Ox, it’s the same.”

    Potential return game

    Unknown.

not shocked. You can't pick up form zero to the level of training required and not pick up some knock or other.

Ox - target end of this month - leeds game
Keita - target end of this month - leeds game

Robertson - target man city game.
jones - target rangers game next week, expect to see him in full training at end of this week

Arthur under assessment - probably looking at 2/3 weeks which puts him on the same leeds game approx.

We knew Arthur Badger was injury prone when we signed him. What he's famous for in Italy apparently... So probably something we should get used to. Great cover for Keita. When Keita's not injured now, we have good cover to keep our physio's occupied.

Prediction:. Melo will never start a Premier League game.

    Not hard to predict.

His arrival alone suggested it but who knows.

Before the cl semi final when we are 8th klopp might deign to use him

Diaz & Trent out injured then. Could be a blessing for Trent, takes himout the line light. Diaz will be a massive miss.

Gd won't matter in our group thankfully.

Win this and we have 2 hard games last up where hopefully 1 point is enough for 2nd.

This is THE game. Nothing else matters this week now.

Hopefully diaz isn't out for months.

Trent can do one for a couple weeks, go have a brain drain or whatever.

We just have to get past rangers by any means necessary.

Tbh, I'm thinking 3rd place and a crack at the Europy may be our only route into the CL next year. :emoticon-0114-dull:

Rangers are not even Championship class. I still think we'll struggle though - without Diaz it'll be horrendously close. Too close. But as you say, even 1 goal is good enough winning margin.
