Looking at social media today regarding Leeds Utd is like watching a slow motion suicide and it’s a disgrace. Radz and all the Directors are trousering money and raping the club worse than Bates. Orta is usless, Bielsa is a one trick pony and even the more conservative members on here have a dig too about us having no money. Having no money is no crime, it just makes it harder to compete. 13 clubs in this seasons Championship have had or are on parachute payments, and as we have never had that we need to generate revenues to try and compete with those that do. A surprising report has been done this week using data taken direct from Transfermarket.com that has created a league squad valuation. Much of it is unsurprising but what stands out for me is the valuation placed on Leeds Utd and that can only be attributed to Victor Orta and for 2 reasons: firstly we will shortly have got rid of 30 players which are/were surplus to requirements and I would imagine that next seasons report will reflect the smaller squad. Secondly the increased valuation of kids brought in and trophy’s won last season by the whole academy and U23s making it into the first team, and of course first team players who have improved under Bielsa so valuation has increased. There are also 9 clubs which will be under investigation for FFFP rules violations and if they all get point deductions the end of season table will be without the likes of QPR, Wendies, Hull, Derby, Swansea, Boro, Forest, WBA, Stoke…… You will note that through prudent management Leeds Utd are still clean. £142.5m – Fulham £113.9m – Stoke £102.9m – Huddersfield £79.2m --- Leeds Utd £75.9m --- Cardiff £65.5m --- WBA £55.1m --- Forest £53.5m --- Boro £50.3m --- Swansea £49.5m --- Brentford £49.1m --- Bristol City £47.6m --- Derby £38.6m --- Hull City £35.5m --- Reading £32.3m --- Wednesday £30.7m --- Blackburn £29.5m --- QPR £29.2m --- Birmingham £24.5m --- PNE £17.7m --- Milwall £16.4m --- Wigan £8.5m ---- Luton Town £7.9m ---- Barnsley £5.7m ---- Charlton So that's clear then and obviously the 6 clubs at the top of the league should be the top 6 from this list. taking that a step further you should also say that having Bielsa should almost guarantee auto's. Ah but football is a funny game
What sort of assets do Millwall have. Clearly, it's not players. It's not gold bullion they've got stashed away since the Hatton Garden job, is it?
The closest club to the City of London and Canary Wharf and slap bang in the middle of a major regeneration Whitejock, Location, Location, Location
The fan base. A lot of the top universities spend a lot of money on research into evolution in particular the search for the missing link.
30 players shipped out and almost all Ortas flops. How does that clown keep his job. He has probably a success rate of one in six in signings. Confident I’d manage that
Put aside his u23 record (of which he signed much more). How does it compare to our past manager records?
Let's put it another way then. In one season alone, how many clubs get to play 10 u23 players in the first team on merit? Or even 5? Or even 2? We do. What does that tell you about the quality we're producing? Orta gets his focus from Radz, & Radz has planned for the future from day 1, which meant heavy investment in the Academy at all levels. Paying off now, isn't it? Even some of our u23 'failures' appear to be leaving to join first class clubs. And it's all mostly Orta's signings. He must get your respect for what he's done there, surely? Or is it just best to ignore it because it has zero moan value? And who exactly are these failures? And by what measure do you judge them? Who sets his success/failure criteria? Radz, that's who. And has he sacked Orta? Nope, quite the contrary - begged him not to leave when that offer came in. So I guess he's hitting his targets. If his brief was 'we've got £5m this season to sign 10 players', does he fail if he can only sign 10 journeymen? What is his success criteria? Answer? We don't know. Now if his budget was £500m to sign 10 players, and he only signed 10 journeymen, you would almost certainly be right to criticise. Could you do a £5k job for your customer if he only gave you £50? Would your customers think you a failure if you only managed a £3k job for that £50? If they were Leeds fans on social media, than the answer is that they certainly would.
A young kid nobody player that Orta was scouting at Xmas and failed to get has now gone to Everton for £37m. This kid was a teenager in Italy hoping to make a breakthrough to the first team. He got his break when Ronaldo was out for a while and scored and scored and scored. Think nobody knows good kids like Orta. McKinstry, McCarron, Bogusz, Haughland and a few more babies trying to break into the U23s and seems Bogusz has even bypassed the 23s now
This is another one Orta scouted but we didn't make a firm offer. Think Eire or Shaks knew a story about this and I hope it doesn't come back to haunt us as we were talking to him before he went to Oxford
Seriously doc. Orta was scouting but didn’t sign? Everybody scouts everybody. It’s who you do sign that matters. It’s always a hit and miss game, especially picking kids who will step up but look how many of his signings we’ve shipped out this summer. The U23s did great last year, but to date the guys that have made the step up were kids from the academy that we’re already here. His one great bit of business was getting us bielsa.
