12% black or African American, so you'd expect 1 or two players in the team and 3 or 4 in the squad, I think. Yedlin, Carter-Vickers, Brooks, Moore, Cannon, Adams, McKennie, Weah, Green, Acosta, Gall and Wood are all black or mixed race with black ancestry.
Collegiate, white collar, soccer mom driven and ****e sums up the USMNT ATM. It's been a long, fairly steady fall from 2002 and outplaying Germany in the World Cup QF. TBF, England are World Cup semifinalists, young, talented and fast, and must be pretty intimidating to a team at my country's level. On the first goal, when Dele took the ball on the left side of the box and made a couple of feints, the US defenders panicked, converged on him and left Lingard unmarked in the middle. England were so superior today they may be able to beat the US in a game that matters eventually.
I get that, just think that in most other US representative teams there would be a lot of players who are "more black" (not intending to upset anyone with these comments by the way). Also heard some guy from the Standard overnight saying that Trent A-A had a "promising game". Well yes he did score - and goals seem to override other factors even when it's not their primary responsibility - but I thought the rest of his game was truly awful. Mind you he does play for Liverpool so is probably "entitled" to replace Tripps immediately.
Reports in Argentina suggest that Walter Kannemann doesn't like the idea of Juan Foyth claiming a place in the Argentine back line, which is the best explanation for why Foyth required six stitches on the cheek after Kannemann elbowed him in the face during training...
Penalty for me. He played for it, certainly, but equally Guzon a) Didn’t get the ball and b) Would have taken Wilson out anyway. What was the refs thinking as it was either a penalty or a card for Wilson......??
The ref probably thought, "You're a twat who dived in and you're another twat who trailed his leg for the decision, so **** you both"! Penalty and a yellow for simulation? Weird one.
I was getting pissed off with the commentators creaming themselves over everything TA-A did - completely ignoring the fact that 80% was ****! It was a well taken goal and he's still only 20, but he's not the Messiah (just a naughty boy!)
I thought the Ref got it right. There was contact but not any that is listed to be penalised by the Laws. In general I think refs give this sort of thing as a foul when it isn't one. You see players planting a leg on the ground and an opposing player falling over it and getting a free kick. Shouldn't be one really.
