So glad I chose not to watch, really had high hopes with the group we took to the tournament but Boothroyd completely sucked out the enthusiasm in the first two games.

If anyone’s interested, I posted the U18s vs Wimbledon link on the academy thread, second half just about to start, 0-0 so far. Not a great first half but still better than anything Boothroyd’s churned out.

One definite positive for us is that we get Forest Whittaker back.
It dawned on me as England were set to go through that we would lose a right-back option for at least a game or two.

Nathan Jones was sent off, at some point. Must've been after the match for his angry outburst.

That was a choker for the lads tonight , Croatia were going down like a pack of cards in every tackle and the ref brought it most times but on the plus side the result should hasten the end of Boothroyd who admitted it was an impossible job

Harry Kane has been involved in 30 goals in 21 qualifying matches (Euros/World Cup) for England (22 goals, 8 assists). - The BBC.
    Not bad.

Yeah, I ordered pizza. I’ll have the thin and crispy supreme.

I think I'm in "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" now. Not many years back everyone knew that Sterling was useless as an international. Indeed, I watched the first match of the last Euros in a pub where after several woeful attempts at doing something, every time he touched the ball the crowd just laughed. Yet somehow since then the critics have been replaced by facsimiles who seem to think that he is beyond criticism, no matter how crap he does, how wasteful he is or who he punches in the canteen. It's really odd how there is nil criticism and regardless of what he does (or doesn't do), he's apparently one of the first names on the teamsheet. Last night wasn't actually a particularly bad game by his international standards, but nevertheless he appeared to be doing things, but actually wasn't contributing much. Wasteful is probably the best term, but again not mentioned. Rant over. I assume I too will soon be replaced with someone with the "right opinion". Similar idea in "World's End". Praise Raheem, for the greater good.

We are supposed to be linked with Pope as a replacement for Hugo , do we want to replace one keeper whose kicking is woeful with another who is possibly worse ?

He runs with the ball beautifully....and that's about it, really. Passing, shooting, decision making are all at levels far lower than his one main talent.

Basically, when he loses his pace, he's done.
