Where the hell were the centre backs?

 

Playing statues yet again!

 

I told you we are awful. So poor from us again that half.

 

Going about as well as expected.

 

Real pity, as it sounds Town have performed pretty well.

Could be a boring dull game now. Is it Judge on?!

To be honest the lack of a striker hasn’t really changed the way we’ve played,apart from not having someone to challenge for(and invariably lose) the long punts up field.Yet again Lambert’s got no plan B.

 

Have to say, i think had we had 11, we would be winning. Sunderland are as poor as us!!

 

It's so simple, get down the flank and get the ball in the box as quick as you can, no tippy tappy sideways and backwards rubbish football until you lose it, it doesn't help being a man down but its been going on years what a bloody shambles. On the only plus side I can see Thomas looks lively and has pace and enthusiasm, that's about it so far.

Yeah marginally worse than Winchester’s.

 

If we’re looking for positives, the players have at least looked alive for a change. Closing down quickly and plenty of aggression.

 

Agreed, we do seem to be closing players done more and moving a bit. Drinan has provided a target up front, although I still think he’s nowhere near League One quality. Game is delicately poised, despite Sunderland’s one man advantage. Think we’re slow getting the ball forwards, but Downes is providing some bite in midfield and Dozzell is passing forwards pretty well - fashioned a great chance for Thomas who arguably should’ve done better with his shot in the area. Chambers and Ward at fullback are not offering enough for me. Not good going forwards and are slow coming back.

 

I know it’s a niche complaint, but we really need one of those throw in coaches that Liverpool have. Or someone who can teach the players to be available and make space whenever we get a throw in. We’re so slow and ponderous at them, it’s a little embarrassing.

 

Just want Bish to pick up the ball, walz around 3 players and score a blinder.

Lift all our spirits!

 

That’s the only way we look like scoring Gaffer. Either that or a monumental gaffe by a Sunderland defender.

 

Who's watching, any positives to take?

 

Not really gaffer. Might have been a different game had Jackson not been sent off early, but we have offered almost nothing in attack and been the poorer of two poor sides.

 

75th minute Dozzell breaks down our left and there's only Drinan in the box and when the pass comes he's looking the wrong way ! 80th minute Sunderland break down their left and they've got 4 in the box, I give up.
