Ireland have legalised drugs for one day, albeit "by accident". It comes after a ruling this morning in which the Irish Court of Appeal declared that current rulings against drugs such as Ecstasy and crystal meth are unconstitutional. It means that Ireland's 1977 Misuse of Drugs Act has effectively been thrown out and all drugs outlawed under the act are now LEGAL, reports Irish radio station NewsTalk. The court found that recent add-ons to the act were in violation of article 15 of the Constitution, making the entire act unconstitutional. Business Insider reports that the "accidental" loophole means the drugs are legal for today only, but news outlets in Ireland report that it could be longer. Politicians in Ireland are now planning to present legislation this evening to make drugs such as ketamine and ecstasy illegal again but they cannot pass the legislation into law until Thursday at the earliest. It means that for today and tomorrow (at least), ecstasy will remain legal. A number of other drugs - like mephedrone - previously been referred to as 'legal highs' are now, once again, legal. http://www.mirror.co.uk/usvsth3m/ireland-just-made-ecstasy-drugs-5305905

What does that do for prosecutions under the unconstitutional act? Get out of jail free card? The oirish are always good fur a laff But what can can you expect from a bunch of ****s who think endemic arse raping of young boys and slavery of pregnant teenage lassies is ok.
an act isnt a law anyway . Today I can walk down the road smoking a joint and be arrested while my companion can smoke crystal meth legally anyhow itll be good fun until Thursday. The ****s in govt. can rush through legislation in 2 days for this but cant bring in legislation to deal with bankers, homelesness or any serious topic in almost 5 years. ****s
no you muppet , but there is always a few in my car so when we saw the copper going into the shop we followed with the now perfectly legal pills. Childish **** I know but it was funny in our stoned heads and still is .
It's you with your bullshitting scouser loving Paddy head up your stupid bum hole.. Clearly white man feet .
That's a fact btw. An act is a piece of legislation that requires consent. The tv licence etc. its not law but unless youve money to fight it through the courts youre getting done on an act.
Act can only have the force of law when agreed to. This is a maxim of law. Which basically means it isn't law unless there is agreement of the parties. (Contract). A drivers licence, Hunting Licence, etc would be proof of contract. Basically what it boils down to is this. 1,. Common Law - Deals with Crime. Murder, Theft, Assault, Property Damage etc. 2. Acts - Contract Terms. 3. Bylaws - Corporate Policies, which are only applicable to corporate employees. Many people lump all the above under "law" which is not the case. There are major differences which is why they have different classifications.
