In space of a month we've gone from people predicting a top 10 finish after draws against Arsenal and Liverpool to certainties for relegation...
What a joke of a thread Brucey ain't going anywhere, even if we got relegated I don't think he'd get sacked. We'll be fine this season
I've said sicne day 1 that i thought we'd be bottom 4. People on here said I was a ****ing idiot when I put my relegation bet on.
I don't think we'll be relegated. But it's still going to be tough season. I can't stand this schizophrenic nature some people have. One week we're going to relegated the next week we're top 10.
I never thought Steve Bruce was good enough in the first place. He's had his purple patch and now he's coming back to his usual level. A bit like Curtis Davies (how does he still deserve a place in the team? He's been **** since March/April).
I don't think we'll go down, but it's going to be hard. The start we've had has been very difficult and I think Bruce will admit tactically this Season, he's been off, but I don't want him sacked. We definitely need to start winning games: 2014 Record: P32 W6 D7 L19
defo got his initial tactics wrong today - though losing to Man Utd - even this United isnt cause to cut your wrists
I don't think this is a question that needs asking yet - though if we lose to Everton and then lose at home to West Brom, I think a lot of people will start to ask the question. Especially if performances don't improve. It's not so bad when you see a bit of fight in the team and a bit of team spirit, but today we didn't look to have either.
The game against Spurs would have raised spirits despite the loss, but I don't know how anyone can take any positives from today. I hope Bruce can do a Pardew and go on a decent run.
Pardew simply went back to basics - brought in hungry players who wanted to show they should be in the team.
I hate seeing cliche comments like "the players aren't trying" or they're "playing like individuals". Those don't apply to our situation at all. The players are clearly working hard for Bruce, that's not the problem. We seem to lack a bit of confidence to attack teams or even control games at the moment. We're getting less possession every week and sitting deeper and deeper. Last season we out-passed teams and at least threatened to score against everyone, not everyone obviously but some. The game plan at the moment seems to just be to sit back and not concede, even when we're behind. I can't imagine that Bruce doesn't notice this and I expect he'll sort it out. We really do look poor at the moment but he's earned a bit of leeway with us. Man U were good today but they had it far too easy. Particularly their 'shaky' defence who had no defending to do.
