If this happens, I am willing to finish this season in 17th position this season and then give us a fresh clean start. I keep hearing analysts suggesting United are years away from the tittle but all that is based on Liverpool's bulsht track record which doesn't even make any sense. Leicester were fighting relegation last season and are now topping the league. Juve got related and won Serie A on first try upon their return. But when it comes to United, they only think of the worst possible scenario. If Jose becomes United's manager and gets two defender, right winger, central midfield and a solid striker, only a fool would bet against United.
If he comes it will make all the difference in terms of attracting better players. Jose has a proven track-record of recent success in Europe and (unlike LvG) is still seen as one of the top coaches in Europe. With his pedigree and our financial clout/global status we should have n o problems in going in for the best players.
I really hope that we become more about splashing money though. We've already spent so much with absolutely nothing to show for it. We need a manager that would get the best out of the current squad and add necessary gems that are not going to cost 50m each.
Once things become clear there will be a raft of threads about potential comings and goings but there are at least 5 members of our first team squad who either need to be sold or put on the bench - they simply aren't good enough. To replace them with world-class players capable of playing at their best in all competitions will cost money - plus Jose being our manager (and Mendes being his agent) gives top-name players a reason to believe we might just be the right club for them. However you cut it, the next manager needs to spend big, there's no point changing from LvG if we're going to persist with the same mediocre squad.
Spending is all good but I don't think throwing money around alone is the solution. Look at City and United these past two seasons. For instance, I would be livid if we go on to spending/chasing someone like Bale when you can get a player that is just as functional at a 1/4 of the money. I just hope that we don't get into that madness and be resourceful and spending wisely.
To be honest, that seems to be another of Jose's strengths. How many of his buys have come good - and none of them have cost the earth.
If Pochettino was in charge of this squad they'd be comfortably top 4 this season. Had Mourinho been in charge they would be tussling with Leicester for the title.
Someones upset top 4 getting away from them Chelsea just a mid table team now, you just can't compete no more
Chavbus are anti-football. Jose actually adapts to suit the club he manages. He brings the best out in every club's style and ethos to attain success. Yours is negative football so he strengthened that. Real Madrid's was expansive attacking football built on the bedrock of a good defence. Much like United's. Guess that's what he'll be strengthening at ours. If he arrives, you can bookmark that
That's like saying he strengthened Ramos and Pelligrini's attacking philosophy at Real Madrid Clearly he'll strengthen to UNITED's traditional attacking philosophy.
Jose only played Bus football with Chavbus FC, he did not do it with RM or Porto. At UTD he would play exciting attacking football, as UTD have the best attacking players in the world
LVG has took up his option of a one year contract extension so will now be manager for the next 2 years
