    He was ridiculous.

Like Haslam has said there, those 3, him along and Brown. All superb, ****ing hell to think we had those 3 AND Terry, Ferdinand, Campbell.

    Some generation of CBs that.

I do think Maguire is up there mind, forget the fee and the fact he’s called Harry Maguire and he’s a lovely footballer and excellent defender.

Gomez at Liverpool could be top class if he can stay away from injury. Struggling after that mind.

Yeah Maguire is very good, I'd forgotten about him. I struggle to value players in today's market as they all seem overpriced to me but maybe he is worth 80 mil, there aren't many better CBs in the prem no matter how fancy their name is and they should get a good 8 years out of him. He's a good mix of no nonsense physical defending with an intelligent brain and more ability on the ball than most.

Besides like Kompany he's got the perfect shaped head for it, like an Easter island statue.

You just have to take the fees out of the equation nowadays.

Maguire is perfect for United, as he would have been for Arsenal, he’d have even improved City.

Only Liverpool in the league wouldn’t have benefitted from that signing. In short he’s a top signing.

Fees are almost immaterial now to Premier League clubs, especially the big ones, it’s just ‘what have they gained’ ain’t it.

Gomez is going to be superb. Matip is immaculate. Lovren is leaving.

I’m not saying Maguire wouldn’t get a game, he’d go in with Virgil, but they don’t need him.
