I hope Saints Go in for Gallagher of Chelsea in the summer, Seems to be the perfect Armstrong Replacement long term.

 

Need cover/competition at fullback, surely? Both sides.

 

Yeah, I listed depth at wingback as the only real defined need. I'd imagine that would be more loan/backup than someone pushing to start, however, unless signing quite young.

 

I know nothing of the player but you've just got me really excited.

 

Jeremi Rodriguez is a LB, just signed a professional contract. Only 17, but he’s got Vokins and possibly McQueen as well as Bertrand in front of him.

 

People possibly said the same about a 16 year old Bale and a 17 year old Shaw.

That's part of the reason I don't see us spending seriously as competition as LB. Jeremi was really highly rated in Spain, but probably not going to feature for a year or two, so a loan as cover likely makes the most sense. Unless we've totally given up on Valery, I'd be surprised if we sourced a longer-term option at RB after already signing KWP, as well.

It has been said that none of our youth players will be going out on loan period. They won't learn our system... so it is of no use to saints.

 

I think he meant us getting a LB in on loan.

 

In that case, yes then I do agree... Tho saying that, who knows if Bertie extends! Might need to replace him.

 

Whilst we don’t have any glaring holes we need to address we aren’t some super team who can’t be improved. I’d say we are in a good position where we can just wait and see if anyone we have been monitoring becomes available.

If I have to pick a position I’d like a number 10 as I don’t think we really have one and would be nice to have that as an option in the squad

 

Think a right winger should be near the top of our priorities. Walcott is only here on loan, and will be 32 in March. Armstrong is quality, but he isn't a winger. He's more of a central mid-type, so it would be good to have the option of a more traditional winger down the right sometimes.

 

I agree. Ralph likes to overload the center of the pitch, but with KWP operating very narrow for a fullback much of the time, a bit of pace down the right wing wouldn't go amiss.
