Matt Dean has interviewed Josh Emmanuel this week, and Josh speaks about his health problems for the first time. Interview in on Saturday sport tomorrow afternoon.
Devante Cole? He's not that good, never really done it at a decent level and can usually be found at a club in League One or Two.
Seen a fair few on social media saying we should give the lad a new deal which is just daft. It's great to see him doing well, but the lad's 23 and playing in the NL North. He had a good spell for Halifax a few years back in the NL too. It seems a no brainier for Grimsby to pick him up
It’s a funny one, he quite easily could be playing higher but has come through 2 huge injuries already. He is such an intelligent player capable of playing as a 6,8,10,9 or either wing. Be interesting if they’re keeping tabs on him because Marty Jacob got a new deal so it’s possible
Yeah I can't see it myself, if we're bolstering our attack as a main focus this Summer, it's highly unlikely he'll get a deal here. In fact, I'd be quite worried if he did, because if he was good enough now, he was good enough in January before we shipped him out and he obviously isn't.
That's more or less where I think he will end up, he probably could do a good job for GY or similar, but where our asperations are then he just isn't up to that level IMO. I really hope we can land Connolly on a permanent, that lad has got something about him.
Me neither just more interested in seeing if Rosy is keeping tabs as intelligent players like him would do well in his style but obviously he was gone before he came in
I'd be quite tempted to look at Lawrence Shankland at Hearts. Always seems to score goals wherever he plays and is now in the Scotland squad.
He's one of a few of our younger ones who'd have got a real chance if we didn't get promoted to the Championship at the 1st attempt and it's not easy to blood kids in the Championship either, especially when you're at the wrong end of the table It could've turned out so differently for him and I think it's why the acquisition of an Irish club is so important. We need to be able to give decent prospects minutes at a good standard
How old do they have to be to be classed as a 'younger one/ kid'? Personally, I think 23 is out of that bracket.
EFL Squad list-Clubs in the Championship shall be permitted to name up to a maximum of 25 Players, of which a minimum of 8 must be a Home Grown Player. Under 21 players (other than those who are on loan at the Club) do not need to be named on the Squad List to be eligible to participate in a League Match. So if they are over 21 then they have to be one of the 25 man squad, if they can't make that squad, there's no point in keeping them.
Saw him come on against Ferriby in pre-season and thought he looked like a child and would have no chance against their team of men. He scored a few minutes later. Must be a good sign of his talent if he's deemed suitable to play men's football with his stature.
Although saying that I really don't know what is meant by "work experience" in a football context. Is he actually going to play or just make tea and be sent for a long stand?
