I've full confidence that Brucey will bring in a quality player to improve the squad. Id like to see us bring in a young, exciting winger. When we play a 442 or 451 etc, we are really lacking options on the wings, right wing especially. Elmo can do a job but we all know his best position is wing back.

Obviously we need a striker, but if we bring anyone else in id like to see a new winger.

Is the Long the answer to our problems though? I dont remember Sagbo\Graham fluffing that many chances that anyone else would have finished (a part from the obvious couple) which makes me think the supply could be better.

I thinks that is maybe the case, but maybe more due to the fact that the strikers aren't getting themselves in goalscoring positions which better strikers will do

I did consider them but expect they will be used in the FA Cup games. Not that I agree with coming youngsters just for the odd cup match!

Indeed. The festive performances wont have hurt either and the smile on Allams face at the end of the Fulham game said so much. The rewards are far greater than any outlay in Jan.

Could be the reason that Long had that surprise injury over Xmas. If Long does not play against Newcastle 2moz then that could well be confirmation. Livermore, Long and Rhodes would be perfect business and well worth £12m. Nick Powell on loan is greedy but i have room left. Lol.

Take both and lets have a cup run as well.

Shame that Conor Townsend is cup tied but he is going back to Carlisle in Jan for the season on loan. Others will have to wait until after the 3rd and 4th rounds of the Fac i suspect.

Please explain how we would get Livermore long and Rhodes for 12 million ? Blackburn would want near enough that for Rhodes alone

I dont see where this has been mentioned but the HDM is reporting that the Daily Star is reporting that Fryatt is probably on his way.

"Matty Fryatt is also in high demand. The Daily Star say he is wanted by Nottingham Forest, with Billy Davies’ side offering £400,000, but Fryatt is also a target for Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday."

Well if Blackburn want Fryatt and Cairney perhaps the two of them and some cash for Rhodes?

I have a specific figure which Bruce has asked for and been granted, according to AA, but I'm not supposed to post it. In terms of who the targets are, the only thing I know is that some kind of Aluko replacement is part of it. Whether that is a short term or long term replacement I don't know so it doesn't necessarily mean he won't be a future part of our plans too. I also know we've watched Samaras, McCormack and that Serbian bloke at Nantes but don't know which of those we decided to take any further. As you say though, we really can only wait and see.

Well I wasn't going to say but since I'm clearly not the only one who's been told this yes, this is the exact figure Allam has been talking about.

Really don't know why he hasn't been given a chance - especially after the impact he had last year and the fact Danny Graham has had plenty of chances.
