I hope it's true. But the link takes you to the Daily Star story. Guess we'll see what happens in January.
Wenger does seem obsessed with landing this Thomas Lemar guy. I have to admit he does look the real deal but £92 million?! .. thats a lot of money. For all the 'Arsenal cant compete financially' comments the reality is we bid £89 million for Mbappe and £92 million for Lemar. The crazy thing about the Lemar bid is that our previous bed for the player was around £50 million.
I've got a feeling we are going to sell Ozil in the January window to Inter. I also think Wenger will go back in for Thomas Lemar. Front three is pretty tasty. --------------------------Cech-------------------------- ---------Koscielny---Mustafi----Monreal----------- Bellerin------Xhaka----Ramsey--------Kolasinac -------Lemar------Lacazette-------Sanchez------- Subs: Giroud, Iwobi, Holding, Walcott, Wilshere, Ospina Wellbeck, Chambers, Elneny.
I'm with you on this one. Without a strong creative midfield, the front three will struggle to break hard defences. We need a Cazorla replacement, i'm sure we could afford to get one and another top player with £92m! Throwing all your money on one player is risky when we need strengthening in a few places.
True - Although I think both Xhaka and Ramsey are decent players. On the plus side Carzorlas injury has finally healed up - He just needs to build strength and put some muscle back on the leg. But I agree CM is clearly our weakest position at the moment.
Think they're decent players too but not sure they work effectively together or in this particular system. You seem how good Aaron is for Wales yet rarely manages anything like that form for us. In an ideal world Santi would be 100% healthy and 4 years younger but it ain't happening. I'm with the others, we need a CM first and foremost. Doesn't mean we can't go in for others but they shouldn't be the priority. Agree Mesut will be off in Jan. Would add Sanchez to that too.
Arsenal are being linked with a january move for Napoli Centreback Nikola Maksimović. He was heavily linked to Chelsea in the summer. Unusual this one. He's 6'5 - maybe this means Wenger is going to actually start signing proper sized defenders.
I have found Carzolas replacement....Napolis insigne. He is a left wing but I know Wenger loves to convert players!
Apparently we are in for Nabil Fekir from Lyon in Jan https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...kir-club-60million-alexis-sanchez-mesut-ozil/
Seemed to have had a great start to the French League with 11 goals and 3 assists from 11 games, in the attacking midfield role. If we lose both our top players this Jan window, i can see a major drive to get him. Best case scenario would be losing Ozil, keeping Sanchez and getting Fekir. But the most likeliest of players to leave is Sanchez unfortunately. Losing both will be a blow and a lot will rest on the new guy to be the main creative outlet.
We are still crying out for a proper defensive midfielder. I would consider Wilfred Ndidi. He's a diamond in the rough. I've watched him closely for Leicester and for my country. Watching him yesterday against Argentina, sealed it for me. We need that engine and appetite to win the ball in the Arsenal midfield. He's very disciplined in his positioning and will run for you all day.
Sounds good. I hope we get one too but Wenger's focus will be an attacking player. It usually is but when you account for a possible departure from Sanchez and Ozil, he'll defo go for one. I'd hate to think what will happen without those two players and we don't replace properly.
Still think I was right in saying we should have sold Sanchez in the Summer and gotten a replacement. He is the sulky type. At this point last Season he had 14 goals and 7 assists. This Season he has 2 goals.
Na man. He just doesn't wanna be there. The Club doesn't feel like its moving forward. Things are just stagnating under Arsene/Gazidis and thats clear to see.
