Teams in L1 are well and truly f*cked if they turn up a good player.

 

Brentford are doing exactly what we should have done if ESI had been legitimate.

 

If the regulations stay as they are it won't just be Brentford. Even if a L1 club manages to get say £5m for a very good player they can't invest the money in the squad in any way because of the wage cap.

 

So we can't assemble a squad that's good enough to get out of League One... until we've got out of League One

We could move Pearce to a couple player/coach role, to free up wages for a new CB
