We've been here before with promising youth, so I'll wait and see what happens. But Saka is already a fine young player who could walk into any PL team and I believe that Emile Smith Rowe will also become a top quality ACM. Looks like we might be losing the young striker Balogun though which is a shame, but it's either him or Nketiah and we can't give them all the game time they want.
Main priority for us this window is getting players off the books or at least getting them signed up with pre contracts with other clubs in the summer. Ozil, Mustafi, Sokratis, Chambers, Kolasinac, Mavropanos, Torreira all need moving on. Kolasinac is out on loan, hopefully we can make that permanent in the summer, along with some of the others. Ozil is apparently in talks with DC United and/or Fenebache about a move. The sooner he goes, the sooner we can move on from that complete debacle.
Haller gone for £22m, had high hopes for him when he came, but the EPL chewed him up and spat him out.
Hope so ... we are quite ambitious and he's going to be wasted at perennial relegation strugglers ...
We need to add some quality to that squad otherwise the lad will be entirely justified ****ing off for better pastures.
You’ve more chance of curling a fat one out in The Queen’s handbag than Saka signing for Leicester like.
Cant see it happening myself. I saw a tweet the other day with Klopp, Edwards, Werner and Henry & his mrs in a hotel room. Maybe that was the crisis meeting. Thing is tho who do we get in and how does that work out when VVD and Gomez are back. We need two cbs on at least Gomez level, that's not gonna be easy in a Jan window but apparently we work two windows ahead, and if that's the case then we should have a nice list of cbs we could at least try and get this window that have already been vigorously scouted. Who knows who saying what tbh, Klopp might want a few in, Henry and Edwards might not have planned for that, maybe Edwards is in Henry's ear telling him we need to spend now. Maybe its Henry pushing Edwards to find a solution this window as he wants the club to retain the league. Who knows mate but I've not much faith tbh
Only realistic chance of picking up a centre half is by paying over the odds for one, getting one nearing the end of a contract, buying an old donkey or buying a younger prospect from a smaller team. The ones who can really make a big difference dropped in at the deep end will be staying with their clubs. Phil Jones is available, an exception to the rule, a real leader with bags of personality thrown in for dressing room morale.
