Former Arsenal and Germany goalkeeper Jens Lehmann claimed the Champions League was better off without Manchester City, branding the Blues 'very, very boring'. Lehmann, working as a pundit for Germany's Sky television, could not hide his pleasure at seeing City drop into the Europa League as Napoli joined Bayern in qualification from Group A of the competition. "Man City play very, very boring football," he said. "They just make their opponents fall asleep with lots of possession. "But to be honest, that is not tactically very demanding. The way they play here is the way any amateur team plays, only not on such good grass. "They just pack men behind the ball, have five against two and just move the ball around. "The goal then just comes from a fortunate circumstance." Lehmann, who played in the Champions League final for Arsenal against Barcelona in 2006, albeit for only 18 minutes before being sent off, was also unimpressed by the atmosphere at the Etihad Stadium. "There was no life in the stadium," he said. "It was dead. "The fans are so quiet. You have got to say, though, that they have not got anything really to get excited about here. "They had possession all of the time, albeit in their own half where nothing was happening. "It is a shame because it is not typical English football. "Napoli have heart and passion and I liked them. It is good that they have gone through. "We don't want to see Manchester City in the Champions --------------------------------------------------------------- Boring and quiet? The twat played for arsenal for ****s sake!!
Whilst i disagree with calling Man City a boring side ( Especially one with Balotelli in), his assessment of how they play is somewhat accurate (at least against more threatening opposition) "They just pack men behind the ball, have five against two and just move the ball around." I can't say however that that is a negative thing, just good teamwork and harrying.
The council house is that quiet they're talking about moving the away fans to try and improve the atmosphere.I suspose it'll take a while or all the new Citeh fans to get used to watching them
City plebs - scoring goals doesnt make a team exciting- it is the football they play that makes them exciting. Mourinho's Chelsea scored loads of goals and a more boring side you couldn't find, they just bludgeoned teams to death. City pack players behind the ball, every game we have played against them this is what they do. Emirates last season was dire, they showed entirely no ambition, they showed little more against our kids in the Carling Cup this season.
There is a difference between City in the PL and City in the CL. I think Lehman is right as far as the CL is concerned. By the way no need for the snide last line in this article. I dont think Arsenal can be considered boring under Wengers Tenure.
Obviously you have not watched many of our recent games because boring is something we are not. I refer you to my answer above. Take a look at the City vs Newcastle thread I think there were 800 posts and i lost count of the amount of their fans that wished us well after the game, what we need to accept is we will always attract wum ****s like you. Have a look through the threads here and you will find that comment couldn't be further from the truth.
I think its time you turned the PC off, its your favourite tea tonight fish finger sandwiches and you don't want to let them get cold, when you have had tea get on with your homework then you can play out for an hour.
