By the way, think it's important to note that you can play two in midfield against a three if the two are hard working, strong in the tackle, know what to do when they have the ball and keep their shape when the opposition are attacking. Kante and drinkwater have literally been doing it all season in the premier league.

From his years as a lad growing up in West Kilburn (Bradiston Rd, Fernhead Rd.) in the 1920's my Dad often talked about buying "a penny worth of stale" (1d) from the baker, that consisted of a large brown paper bag stuffed full of the previous days sticky buns - that and fear of the dentist cost him his teeth he told me.

He also talked about the weekly visits of the "urine lady" to collect pre-pubescent boys pee (his), for money, used as a dye in the textile industry apparently, and I'm not taking the piss!

Good Queen Bess used urine to clean her gnashers, Kilburn. That could've saved your dad's teeth.

    JFH post-match interview:-

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35509293

"It was not acceptable. The fans deserve better.

"We had put the standard down in the previous matches and this was well under that standard. We were making steps forward and I didn't see this coming at all.

"It's two steps back. It's now about starting again, getting things right, taking responsibility and starting to look at ourselves again.

"I'm not going to single out individuals. We are a team, and as a team we were well under par."

We didn't lay a glove on Fulham's midfield yesterday. O'Hara and Parker looked like world beaters

How about taking some responsibility yourself, Jimmy?

In central midfield? 6 cms and a goalkeeper only leaves 4 other outfield players...

True but a completely different shape and ethic IMO
The foxes first call when I have seen them only on TV is defensive shape
You could argue the foxes are the best team in recent years without the ball and when they get it by god they break directly and are super effective
When they Spring an attack then the players that flood forward know that behind them is a calm protective unit who apart from set pieces simply watch the other players score
Thought Simpson was unlucky to go today
The good players we have had as I have said the best squads in recent QPR history and we are left with some real dross currently

    Keeper
    3 across the back
5 in midfield as the wing backs were sitting in midfield
Two excellent forwards one of which is Ross McCormack who chasing back deep, he tackled Toszer at one point

He criticised the performance of the team. He should also have said 'I got it wrong' in my opinion.

Agree he could have been clearer. But I read that apology as an admission of guilt, and of how they got it wrong.

They had MCor/Demb up front and and we had Mackie and Polter. That says it all. Quality v Rubbish. This team will not do any better next season. In fact with these players I see us in relegation trouble. Too much quality has left the club

Of course not. Are you being purposely awkward?

They played 3-5-2 with a forward often dropping in to form a 6 in midfield........3 central, 2 wing backs and the extra forward.
We had Tosser and Luongo. Phillips and Hoilett either can't/won't defend, especially Phillips and Luongo likes to break forward.
It was tactically inept of JFH to leave things unchanged till half time.
We don't have the right players to play 4-4-2 imo.

But even with these players, we could make things a little better for ourselves with a manager who is more tactically aware imo.
Fulham's excellent two forwards wouldn't have had so much quality service if we had shored up the midfield imo.

Doesnt really matter what they played....we were nowhere near them when they received the ball. No one tight enough and rarely a tackle. You cant let decent players receive the ball in our half with yards of space. Not rocket science and it went on and on (which is the problem and disgraceful that JFH and senior players (OLD!!) like we have could not see the problem.............
