Reports that Jonas is to sue the club for £2 million under some sort of disability discrimination action.

Him did and him is absolutely shattered today, but some good nutrition, a stroll with the hound and some yoga should address the situation.

As a way of compensation Ashley has offered him a job at one of his stores. On zero hours contract.

That should be a deal closer

Thats a late shift weekend bonus.

Work 54 hours and get a free sock.

The other one can be claimed if you have no sick days in 6 months.

Best thing about this is that hopefully whole story will come out. Would love to know what went on here. Were we being sympathetic to him by keeping it quiet at his request, did we try and freeze him out etc. Did we pay his salary while he was sick and pay for his treatment. I hope so because the club is going to look seriously shxt if not.

I wish he was suing Mike Ashley directly. Make better headlines.

Jonas needs to give it up, to be fair to him, his had a good run, he did exceptionally well to get over cancer which is extremely commendable and to even returned and play let alone score in his final game is something you could make a film about!

In terms of his claim, the club continued to pay him or so I believe, I highly doubt they stopped paying him, they allowed him time off to return home and seek treatment. The only thing the club did wrong imho is that they refused or didnt pay for his treatment.

Under his contract there will be a clause stating that the club will pay for treatments/physio/surgery and the rest, but that will be in realtion to his job, I doubt it extends as far as diseases or other medical conditions. Morally the club should have paid for it, but legally I reckon there's no liability.

I dont blame him for trying to pursue it especially after Carver called him and Raylor and sacked them off. I do wish him the best of luck, but i really dont think he stands a chance.

But then again to avoid publicity this more than likely wont end up in court, Ashley migh just chuck him 500k and a life time 10% off sports direct discount card!

The full story will hopefully come out. I heard initially Jonas had paid for all his medical costs and the club told him to find another club. Here's hoping Ashley and his cronies get their due rewards in court. Another Keegan type victory would be nice.

How can it be disgraceful?. The club turned it's back on him, tried to get him off to Norwich and yet he still came back and ran his socks off for us in our hour of need. Jonas will remain a fans favourite for many a year.

I actually don't know what to think here. If he got paid then I don't see a problem. My work wouldn't pay for a private illness so why should nufc. And if it's because his contract was up then that's just tough luck. I can't see what he can sue the club for.

He was still employed by the club during his illness. Don't all PL clubs ensure private health care for their employees when they get injured etc. This being the case he shouldn't have had to pay for his own treatment.
His performance against West Ham was second to none on the day and as a result we stayed up. Lets also not forget his goal that day , which ensured our Premiership status.

Getting cancer is not getting injured though. They will have very clearly defined contracts on what medical support they will get I would have thought. I doubt the club anything wrong in that respect. Jonas has always complained about being sent to Norwich on loan because the club said they didn't want him but I thought that was after he initially got over it, before he had to go and have his full chemo? The timing of all these events is kind of key to how to see this but I'm really not sure the club has done anything illegal. Morally questionable, maybe, but then his football was awful around that time and nobody with any sense wanted him at the club.
