One thing that Kloppy will not have experienced at Dortmund is the pressure he will feel from the deluded RS fans. Those fans who expect him to be top 4 and playing well in the CL on a regular basis.

Expectations will be beyond realistic and that is something that he would not have experienced at Dortmund.

One player Klopp was after when he was at Dortmund who Liverpool have since signed, is a certain Firminho, one of the worst 30 million players I've seen. Probably as bad as Andy Carrolls signing! So if that's what his judgement of players is like, then he won't have any more success than Rodgers with his transfer dealings:biggrin:

Just as certainly as the sun will rise in the East, Kloppy will flop on the Kop <ok>

In the past 25 years I've been #worried for about 3 weeks. Gerrard's slip put an end to that!

This thread is fairly funny tbf.

If we do end up with Klopp, the question is could we have got better? The answer is a huge NO.

The reality is we've fallen away from the top few teams in the country and we could be getting a manager that would (pretty much) be able to walk into any club around. That is a massive coup for us, regardless of what you lot would like to believe.

He has a massive challenge ahead of him, but whoever takes over would. He comes across like he has the passion needed to take the challenge on.

It's nice to see you all have your crystal balls out. It wasn't so long ago a lot of you wanted Klopp as Utd manager <laugh>

Out of interest who do you think would be better, and I mean out of the realistic candidates?

Klopp crashed and burned at Dortmund last season. You can see just how bad a job he did by looking at them now.

However he was at a club made for him at Liverpool he will have to make stupid statements weekly, organise a televised meltdown, buy ruhbbish and then buy twice as much rubbish.

Liverpool are not Dortmund. Dortmund had patience and allowed him to take them the long way. He achieved greatness there but it was a very different scenario to the Liverpool job.

Maybe a manager who hasn't relegated a team, or one who didn't leave his last club in a total mess. I heard Big Sam is looking for a new club

I think he's the best candidate around. Expectation is going to be the main issue. A lot of Liverpool fans still expect to be in the top four and challenging when that's now unlikely unless the Yanks chuck a couple of hundred million more into transfers. Maybe they will but the coffers took quite a battering under Rodgers. He will also expect to see a great return on his training methods and style of play but will probably be frustrated by the fact that Liverpool are so far behind a number of teams that progress will be slow. It's not like being in Germany where if you can get the better of Bayern you are going to win stuff.

For the record I never wanted Klopp at United. Not yet anyway. The United job would swallow him up in the same way it swallowed up Moyes. You need to have big club experience and an ego the size of Eva Caneiro's arse to cope with the United job!

    :D

    Mainz? A big club?

In the words of one of our yanks: "What are you smoking over there?" and can I have some?

Mainz is a small city with a very small club which has been overachieving for a while now. They have LITERALLY never won anything of note and have only reached Europe with/after Klopp.
