Ronald Koeman has been sacked as head coach of Barcelona after 14 months in charge at the Nou Camp. Barca have picked up just 15 points from 10 games in La Liga and have already lost twice in the group stage of this season's Champions League. They are ninth in the table, six points adrift of the joint leaders after losing at Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/58633405
10m pay off, most of that as Koeman had to buy himself out of his last contract......tbh, that's the only reason he lasted as long as he did, position's been untenable for a long time but they couldn't afford to bin him off. There will no doubt be no shortage of takers, but no one in their right mind is taking that job, a squad that's had it's talent stripped almost overnight, a stadium that needs billions investing in it. Barca could find themselves in the **** and out of the champions league for a long long time, there's a fair amount of strength across the league and even the signings they've managed to register this season aren't all that. Imagine going from a front 3 of Suarez, Messi and Neymar to De Jong, Aguero (at 33) and Depay over a couple of seasons......bit like going from Jelavic and Long to Keane and Diomande
