I don't mind how many players we get provided they're better than what we've got or better than the one who plays in their position on the bench. I keep saying the same as you every year about cm... Until we get rid of jonjo we'll never improve.. He deliberately doesn't get involved and he deliberately avoids playing with willock or anyone in there with him. Jonjo shelvey spends the entire match hiding, playing the way he wants to play and essentially avoids any risks.. He's out there making himself look good and playing others into trouble. We're desperate for quality in all areas.. Theres a wafer thin layer of quality in the squad and there's a few reliable cbs, but otherwise its all absolute ****e. I personally think Schar is good and I think Federico is too. I’ve seen Ajer live a couple of times he’s a tall lanky lad but he is better than the rest of the cb we have. But money is going to be the problem next season and spending it on a cb when I don’t feel that’s where the problem is doesn’t do it for me. If we could get two new cm (for the championship) then there will be more possession and less emphasis on the defending for 70-80 minutes a game crap.

I said very early that Bruce was trying to remove any credit that could be attributed to rafa. He broke up the Longstaff Hayden cm partnership which was a big mistake and he never went back on it.
Agreed. The thing is he didn’t have to. He’s made so many mistakes mate he really has. I know that MA is the real problem. But Steve’s made some epic mistakes this season. The one thing you cannot do as a manager is lose the players.
We never played 4 2 3 1.. We all thought it was to be just that.. It seemed we had the players to do it and it seemed the only way to the them on the pitch
That formation would have worked with the players we had. Provided we didn’t pick up significant injuries. With that formation you could have had good balance. But this 2 wide winger forwards is just plain and utter garbage. The 5-3-2 v Sheff Utd was absolutely bonkers. He’s completely and utterly out of touch with modern day football. Christ if he had gone with flat 4-4-2 and went old school 90’s in most games we would have played better. He’s just not clever enough to make a continental formation and tactic work. Especially with the staff around him.
We had options in all areas in a 4 2 3 1... Cm and Full back areas not so much, but we'd have had more goals that's for sure.. We've played 3 cms in 4 4 2.. We've played nowhere near enough attacking players
