Millwall's finest hour was when they saw off the police at Luton. Their fans get glassy-eyed taking about it.
In the three seasons since then, Bowyer took Charlton to the Championship. Despite failing to hold onto our second tier status, we've still done better than Oxford United - despite all the trouble with RD's joke budget in 2019-20 and the disaster of ESI. Thanks though to Robinson, for bringing Bowyer back to the Club
I know it's a bit late to revisit this and it may seem that it is because Adkins has started well but as a Hull supporter, we would have him back any day of the week. He took us from being a ****, tanking team to being promotion hopefuls in just over a season. He pretty much won over the entire fanbase bar none in his time with us and most peopld were understanding of his leaving as he was continually getting ****ed over by our ****ish owners. He transformed our team, then took a big pay cut after s great season. He continually had his best players sold, was given no budget for players, yet still made us competitive. He should have walked far sooner than he did. He just clicked for us, and his happy, confident attitude is infectious. Hull fans are rooting for you because you have him. Just lose your last match of the season please. I'm just amazed he wasn't picked up by any team earlier.
Thank you. No arguments from me on this one, I think he is exactly what we needed. Although I would love to see Johnnie Jackson as our manager one day and Lee Bowyer worked miracles under extremely difficult circumstances (perhaps like NA had with you guys) I think NA's experience, enthusiasm and ability to produce successful teams is above what either LB or JJ are currently capable of. Roll on the good times and thank you for your insights. Good luck for the rest of the season (not that you need it) although of course I hope that doesn't extend to 8/5
To be fair, it would be very difficult for any Club to retain all of the players or gaffer they had back when the calendar was printed, for the whole next 12 months. It's a sad measure of the state CAFC has been in, that so many whose mugshots are considered 'calendar worthy' have long since left by the time their page comes up. A bit more stability would not go amiss. Having 30 or more players getting game time every season isn't the recipe for sustainable success.
Pretty shabby way to treat the guy in my opinion. Birmingham is another poorly run club who don't seem to like to spend much but expect big results, and Bowyer seems to have been lured away from us to enjoy the same mini budget he always enjoyed here. Still, he did get to be reunited with the man we love to hate, Lyle Judas Taylor.
If I was Bowyer I'd go back to France and enjoy the fishing. I expect most gaffers are totally lied to about how things are going to be. Certainly the case with Erik Ten Hag
OLd Trafford- managers' graveyard. Burnley will be the same, their owners pulled the same stroke as the Glazers. I don't think our club will be right until we have our ground back either. TS's original plan seems to have been to quickly get back to the Premier League, and make enough money to buy the ground from Yellow Teeth. Now that this plan has gone up in smoke there's too much uncertainty over too many aspects.
